This article explains how to send a video using the Gmail email service. If the file size is less than 25 MB, you can attach it directly to the message, otherwise you will have to upload it to Google Drive and share only the access link to the file with the recipient of the email. These two options are available on both mobile platforms and computers.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Send an Attachment Video on Mobile Device
Step 1. Launch the Gmail app
It features a red "M" icon on a white background. If you are already signed in with your account, you will be automatically redirected to your inbox.
If you are not logged in yet, you will need to enter your email address and security password before you can continue
Step 2. Press the "New" button
It features a red and white pencil icon located in the lower right corner of the screen. A new pop-up window will appear allowing you to create a new email message.
Step 3. Tap the paperclip icon
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
You may need to press the button first OK to authorize the Gmail app to access the internal memory of the smartphone or tablet.
Step 4. Select the video you want to attach to the email
Access where it is stored (for example Tunnel or Camera roll), locate the video you want to attach, then press the button You choose.
If you are using an Android device, you will need to select the item first Attach file from the menu.
Step 5. Enter the email address of the recipient of the message
Type the email address of the person you want to send the video to.
If you wish, you can also add an object by selecting the "Subject" text field and typing the subject you prefer. Similarly, you can enter a message in the box below the subject text field
Step 6. Press the "Submit" button
It features a stylized paper airplane icon located in the upper right corner of the screen. In this way the message will be sent to the indicated recipient with the video attached.
The person who will receive the email will be able to view the video directly from the Gmail app by tapping the preview icon displayed at the bottom of the message
Method 2 of 4: Send an Attachment Video from Computer
Step 1. Visit the Gmail website
Use the URL https://www.gmail.com/. If you are already signed in with your Gmail account, you will be automatically redirected to your inbox.
If you are not logged in yet, you will need to enter your email address and security password before continuing
Step 2. Click the Burn button
It is white in color and is located at the top left of the Gmail page. A new pop-up window will appear.
Step 3. Enter the email address of the recipient of the message
Type the email address of the person you want to send the video to.
If you wish, you can also add an object by selecting the "Subject" text field and typing the subject you prefer. Similarly, you can enter a message in the box below the subject text field
Step 4. Click on the paperclip icon
It is displayed at the bottom of the message composition.
Step 5. Select the folder where the file to attach is stored
Click on the folder containing the video you want to attach to the email using the left panel of the dialog box that appeared.
Step 6. Select the video to attach
Click on the corresponding icon to select the file to upload to Gmail.
Step 7. Click the Open button
It is located in the lower right corner of the dialog box. The video you have chosen will be attached to the email.
Step 8. Click the Submit button
It is blue in color and located in the lower left corner of the compose message window. The e-mail will be sent to the indicated recipient with the video attached.
Method 3 of 4: Send a Google Drive Video from Mobile Device
Step 1. Upload the video you want to share on Google Drive
Depending on where the file is stored (computer or mobile device), the procedure to follow changes:
- Mobile Device - launch the Google Drive app, press the button +, choose the item Load, select Photo and video, navigate to the folder where the file is stored, select it and finally press the button Load.
- Computer - access the website https://drive.google.com/ and, if necessary, log in. Click on the button New one, click on the option File upload, access the folder where the video to upload is stored, click on the corresponding icon, then click on the button You open.
Step 2. Launch the Gmail app

Step 3. Press the "New" button

Tap the option Drive (to be able to locate and select it you may have to scroll through the menu that appears), then select the file to attach.
If you are using an Android device, select the item Insert from Drive listed in the drop-down menu that appeared, select the video to attach and press the button Select.
Step 6. Press the "Submit" button
It features a stylized paper airplane icon located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 7. Press the Continue button if prompted
If this is your first time sending this file to someone, this will ensure that the recipient has the necessary permissions to access and view the video.
If you are using an Android device, select the "Can view" checkbox, then press the button Send if requested.
Method 4 of 4: Send a Google Drive Video from Computer
Step 1. Upload the video in question to Google Drive
Depending on where the file is stored (computer or mobile device), the procedure to follow changes:
- Computer - access the website https://drive.google.com/ and, if necessary, log in. Click on the button New one, click on the option File upload, access the folder where the video to upload is stored, click on the corresponding icon, then click on the button You open.
- Mobile Device - launch the Google Drive app, press the button +, choose the item Load, select Photo and video, navigate to the folder where the file is stored, select it and finally press the button Load.

Step 5. Click on the Google Drive icon
It features the triangular Drive logo and is located at the bottom of the message composition window. A new pop-up window will appear that will allow you to access your files stored on Google Drive.
Step 6. Select the video to attach
Click on the corresponding icon to select the file to be sent by e-mail.
Step 7. Click the Insert button
It is blue in color and located in the lower left corner of the window.
Step 8. Click the Submit button
It is blue in color and located in the lower left corner of the compose message window.
Step 9. Click on the Share and Send option if required
This way you can be sure that the recipient of the email will be able to view the video after receiving it.
