Telemarketing companies, political campaigns and other unwanted calls can bother you with inappropriate phone calls. If you want to get rid of their phone calls altogether, there are several ways to set your phone to block the call. The options will differ depending on the phone, application settings and wireless provider. It is possible to block a number on a mobile phone with one of these methods.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Phone Settings
Step 1. Access your mobile settings to see if there is an option to block incoming calls
Many Nokia and Samsung phones have call blocking features.
Step 2. Enter the number you want to block
Step 3. Go to Settings
Choose Call Settings, or similar, to see if you have options for blocking phone numbers.
Look for a Black List or Call Blocker in each menu item. If you don't find them in any settings entry, they may actually not be there on your phone
Step 4. If you didn't find the list of blocked numbers, go to Options
Look for the button that allows you to add a new number. Write the number and save it.
Step 5. You may also be able to access this menu from the "Recent Calls" screen
Select the number and click on the options. Look for a menu item similar to Add to Blocked Numbers List or Block Number.
Method 2 of 4: Wireless Options
Step 1. Contact your carrier or log in with your online account to see if you have any blocking options
- Different operators have different options:
- Vodafone offers its customers the free selective call blocking service. To activate the service and further information, call the free assistance number 190.
- Tim offers a blocking service for incoming and outgoing calls. Call the Customer Area at the free number 199 for more information on the procedure.
- Consult the website www.tre.it for information on the strings to block incoming and outgoing calls if you have a number Three.
Step 2. Sign up for an annual or monthly fee, if available with your rate plan
It may be enough for you to sign up for a few months to block calls.
Step 3. You will need an account and permissions to access and modify your plan
If you are not the owner of your family's plan, you will need to ask the beneficial owner to block the number or be enabled yourself to do so.
Method 3 of 4: Applications
Step 1. Search your smartphone's App Store or App Center for a free or paid service that allows you to block unwanted calls
- Download apps like CallFilter, DroidBlock or Automatic Call Blocker from the Android Marketplace if you have an Android smartphone. While they may not always work, they can significantly reduce unwanted calls from the numbers you have indicated.
- If you have a jail broken iPhone you can download iBlacklist. Uncracked iPhones may go through the provider to search for the service, as there is currently no iPhone app that can block incoming calls.
Method 4 of 4: Call Silencer
Step 1. Find out if it is possible to set a silent ringtone on your phone for certain numbers
The iPhone, for example, can change the ringtone depending on the number that is calling you.
Step 2. Check in the ringtone settings if you already have the silent option
If you don't have it, you will need to download and install a silent ringtone from your computer.
