This wikiHow teaches you how to delete music content, such as songs by a specific artist, album or song, from an iPhone.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Delete Music from iPhone Internal Memory
Step 1. Launch the iPhone Settings app
It features a gray gear icon. Normally it is placed directly on the Home of the device.
Step 2. Select the General item
It is located at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Choose the Use space and iCloud option
It is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Choose the Manage space item in the "Archive" section
It is located at the top of the page.
Step 5. Select the Music option
It features a white icon with a multicolored musical note inside.
Since apps are listed by the space they take up in the iPhone memory, the precise location of the Music app may vary
Step 6. Choose what to delete
You can decide to delete all the songs on the iPhone and listed in the "All Songs" tab visible at the top of the page or you can choose to remove all the contents of a specific artist by selecting the corresponding name listed in the "Artists" section. Alternatively, you can be more specific by following these instructions:
- Select an artist name to view the "Albums" tab which lists all of their albums;
- Select an album name to view the list of all songs it includes.
Step 7. Press the Edit button
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen. The button in question is present in all the screens of the "Music" app.
Step 8. Tap the red circular icon located to the left of an option
Make sure you select the icon of the song, album or artist you want to delete from the iPhone.
Step 9. Press the Delete button
It appeared to the right of the option you chose. This will delete the selected content (the song, album or artist of your choice) from the iPhone Music app.
Step 10. Press the Done button when you are done deleting music from iPhone
It is located in the upper right corner of the screen. All the music you have selected will no longer be in the iPhone media library.
Method 2 of 2: Delete the Songs from the Music App
Step 1. Launch the Music app
It features a musical note icon on a white background.
Step 2. Select the Library tab
It is located in the lower left corner of the screen.
If the Music app starts showing the contents of the "Library" tab directly, you can skip this step
Step 3. Select the Songs option
It is displayed in the center of the screen. Using the Music app, it is not possible to delete all the contents of a specific artist or album at the same time, but you can delete individual songs.
Step 4. Select the song you want to delete
The chosen song will be played and the controls to manage the playback will appear at the bottom of the screen.
In order to find the song to delete, you may need to scroll down the list
Step 5. Tap the bar where the playback controls for the chosen song are displayed
It is located at the bottom of the screen. The page of the song in question will be displayed.
Step 6. Press the… button
It is located in the lower right part of the screen, under the slider with which you can adjust the volume.
Depending on the screen size of your iPhone, you may need to scroll down the page
Step 7. Select the Delete from Library option
It is displayed at the top of the pop-up window that appears.
Step 8. Press the Delete Song button
It is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The chosen song will be deleted immediately from the iPhone.
