Have you ever thought that your iPod or iPhone earphones are too dirty? It's easy to clean them, you'll just have to read this article to learn how!
Steps
Step 1. Unplug the earphones from your device
Step 2. Take some cotton and soak it with alcohol
Step 3. Run the cotton ball over the earphones
Step 4. Let them dry thoroughly before using them again
Advice
- This is best done with isopropyl alcohol. Other types of liquid cleaners could damage your earphones.
- To get the dirt out of the speaker holes you can use one of those little blue bellows that are sold in most drugstores. Press it, then place it next to the speaker (preferably after you have let the wax out using mineral oil and / or other solvents) and release it slowly so that it sucks up the wax along with the air. Repeat the process if needed. Be patient. Obviously you will have to rinse the bellows once finished. It works very well if you can't remove the speaker grille, and the difference you will hear in the sound will be great.
- Using a fine-bristled toothbrush, you will be able to get into the speaker holes, while a cotton swab will not. DO NOT get your toothbrush wet or you will damage the earbuds.
- Cotton buds are fine too, but it may take some time to clean the earbuds, as they are small.
