Want to delete your Yelp account? The link to do this is not accessible from the profile or the settings menu, but the operation is quite simple once you find the right page.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Close a Personal Account
Step 1. Log in to the Yelp profile you want to close
You must be logged in on the desktop version of the website, as it is not possible to close an account from the app or mobile site.
Closing your account will delete all reviews you have posted as a customer, as well as all uploaded images and comments posted on the forums
Step 2. Delete all reviews and images you want to remove right away
Upon termination of your Yelp account, the company will delete your content within a short period of time, but this will not be immediate. If there are any items you want to delete as soon as possible, do it manually before closing the profile.
- You can find your reviews in the About section of the Yelp website. Click the "Delete" button for each post you want to delete.
- You can delete a photo by opening the business page you uploaded it to. Choose the image to remove, then select "Edit caption". This will bring up the "Delete" button for the photo.
Step 3. Visit the Yelp Account Close page
Copy and paste the following address into your browser bar: yelp.com/support/contact/account_closure.
You cannot delete your profile from your account settings or using the mobile app
Step 4. Type what you want in the text field
Yelp asks you to enter a reason for closing your account. You don't have to choose a specific reason, but you need to type something in the space provided before you can proceed.
Step 5. Click "Submit" to send your account termination request
The profile will not be deleted immediately. You have to wait for a confirmation email, which will arrive in your inbox after some time.
Step 6. Open the confirmation email
The communication will be sent to the email address associated with your Yelp account.
Step 7. Click the link to confirm the operation
Click the "Close Account" button and the operation will be made official. After this step, you will no longer be able to recover the profile.
Step 8. Wait for the content to be deleted
Once the account closure is confirmed, your data will be deleted gradually. This does not happen in one go, but in the course of a week or so all your images and reviews will no longer be visible on the site.
Method 2 of 2: Close a Trade Account
Step 1. Understand the limitations of this process
You can relinquish control of your Yelp business account, but your business page cannot be removed from the site. The only way to do this is to sue Yelp.
Step 2. Visit the merchant account termination page
You must submit a form to Yelp to relinquish control of your profile. You can find it here.
Step 3. Fill out the form
You must prove that you are the owner of the business and enter a valid email.
Step 4. Wait to be contacted
Yelp will usually notify you before blocking you from accessing your business profile. This security measure is to prevent someone from taking control of your account without your permission.
Step 5. Wait until you are denied access to the account
It may take some time for this to complete. Remember, you can't remove your business page from Yelp.
