Indulging in a spa treatment at home is ideal for relaxing after a long and stressful day. Most people focus solely on their skin and nails, but hair also requires care and attention! If they are dry, brittle, frizzy or damaged, they undoubtedly need hydration. Having a spa treatment is an effective and relaxing way to nourish them thoroughly. You will see that in the end they will be softer than ever!
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Massage the Scalp
Step 1. Prepare the oil
In the microwave or on the stove, heat 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of coconut or olive oil. Be careful: it must not be hot, but warm and pleasant to the touch. If you prefer a more sophisticated treatment, try one of the following solutions:
- 1 teaspoon of each of the following oils: sweet almond, coconut, olive and sesame seeds.
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of coconut oil, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of olive oil and 4-5 drops of vitamin E oil.
Step 2. Massage the oil into the scalp from root to tip for 5 minutes, then evenly apply the remaining product
The massage promotes circulation in the scalp.
Step 3. Wrap a warm, damp towel around your head
But first squeeze it to remove excess water. If necessary, secure it with pliers.
Step 4. Keep it on for 5-6 minutes
The heat will open the follicles, favoring the penetration of the oil into the hair and scalp. This way they will be fed thoroughly.
If you have particularly dry hair, leave it on for 15-20 minutes
Step 5. Wash your hair using warm water and a mild shampoo
Dosage enough to get rid of the oil. If you have particularly dry hair you can also use conditioner, but in any case the recipes illustrated in this article are able to nourish it without the need to add any product.
Part 2 of 3: Apply the Mask
Step 1. Choose and prepare the mask
You can use whatever you want. A pre-packaged product will do, but a homemade mask is preferable. You can use your own recipe or try one of the ones shown here.
Double the doses for long or thick hair
Step 2. Apply the mask starting from the roots
If necessary, first divide your hair into several sections. Distribute the product with the help of a wide-toothed comb. Since you risk getting dirty, you may want to wrap your shoulders in a towel or hairdressing cape.
Step 3. Cover your hair with a shower cap
If they are particularly long, first collect them in a soft bun, then secure them with pliers. In addition to not getting dirty, the cap traps the heat emanating from the scalp and makes the mask more effective.
Step 4. Wait 15-30 minutes
The shutter speed depends on the type of mask used, so be sure to follow the instructions exactly.
Step 5. Rinse the mask off with a mild shampoo and warm water
Apply the conditioner and rinse it off. If the product you use specifically has different removal instructions, then follow them.
Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes before rinsing to further soften the hair
Step 6. Blot your hair with a towel
Let them air dry and avoid using a hairdryer, which damages them.
