Nowadays being able to save text messages is an important feature, required by any smartphone. Nobody likes to lose the information contained in a text message, especially if it is important. With the Android operating system, you can save your text messages using your Gmail account. This way, even if your phone is lost, you can still have access to your information. Let's see together what are the steps to follow.
Steps
Step 1. Configure your Gmail account settings
- Log into your Gmail profile using your computer.
- Access your account settings by selecting the button to access the main menu located at the top right of the interface.
- Select the 'Forwarding and POP / IMAP' item.
- Select the 'Activate IMAP' radio button to enable the relevant service. Save the new configuration by pressing the 'Save changes' button at the bottom of the page.
Step 2. Download the 'SMS Backup +' application from the 'Play Store'
Search using the application name, then select and install it. At the end of the installation procedure, start the program.
Step 3. Configure SMS Backup +
After launching the app, press the 'Connect' button to connect your Gmail account to your phone.
- You will be asked to log into your Gmail account using your phone.
- After logging in, you will need to authorize the application to connect to your Gmail account. Simply hit the 'Grant Access' button from the popup window that appeared.
Step 4. Back up your messages
When you finish the above steps, a pop-up window will appear asking if you want to back up your messages right away.
Back up by pressing the 'Backup' button. This way your SMS will be automatically synchronized with your Gmail account
Step 5. Check that the backup was successful by logging into your Gmail profile
Go back to your computer and log back into Gmail.
