This wikiHow teaches you how to create and share an invitation link to add friends to a text channel on a Discord server using an Android device. You must have administrator privileges within the server to invite new users to join the chat.
Steps
Step 1. Open the Discord application on your device
The icon is represented by a white joystick in a blue circle and can be found in the application list.
Step 2. Tap the three horizontal lines icon
It is located in the upper left corner of the screen. This button opens the list of all servers and chats on the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Press a server icon
Select a server from the list located on the left side of the screen. This will open the list of all text and voice channels of the server in question.
Step 4. Tap Invite your friends
This option is located under the server name at the top of the screen. A new page will open that will allow you to create the invitation.
Step 5. Tap Channel under "Invite"
This button allows you to select a text channel to send an invitation to the selected server. You can invite a user to the "# general" chat or to another channel on the same server.
Step 6. Select an expiration date for the invitation in the "Expiration after" section
For example, you can set the link to expire after 30 minutes, six hours, or one day.
If you select "No limit", the invitation link will never expire. This means that you can use it at any time in the future to invite and add users to the channel
Step 7. Select a maximum number of uses for the invitation in the "Maximum number of uses" section
You can decide to expire the invitation after one, 10 or 100 uses. Once it has been used by the expected maximum number of users, it will stop working.
Step 8. Swipe the Merge to Server button to activate it
When you activate the temporary join for an invitation, invited users will be automatically kicked out of the chat when they log out.
Step 9. Tap the invitation link
It is located at the top of the screen. Tapping it will copy it to the clipboard. You can paste it into a direct message if you want to invite your Discord friends to your channel.
Step 10. Tap the share button next to the invitation link
It is represented by three dots joined by two lines and is located in the upper right corner of the screen. A pop-up menu will open allowing you to select an application to share the invitation.
Step 11. Select an application from the pop-up menu
The invitation link can be shared on messaging applications and social networks such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger and Signal. The selected application will be open and you will be shown the list of your contacts.
Step 12. Select a friend to invite them
Scroll through the contact list and tap the name of the friend you want to invite to the Discord text channel.
If your contact doesn't have a Discord account, they'll need to create one before they can join your channel
Step 13. Send the invitation
Tap the submit button in the app you are using. Once your friend has received and clicked on the invitation, they can join your channel chat.
