This article teaches you to archive a chat on WhatsApp and hide it from the conversation list.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Using an iPhone
Step 1. Open WhatsApp
The icon looks like a green speech bubble containing a white telephone handset.
Step 2. Tap the Chat button
It looks like two speech bubbles and is located in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Allows you to open the list of conversations.
To see this button you may need to tap the arrow on the top left, which allows you to go back
Step 3. Swipe left on a conversation
Step 4. Tap Archive
This button has a white box on a blue background. The conversation will disappear from the chat list. You can access it at any time by opening the folder titled "Archived Chats".

Method 2 of 3: Using Android
Step 1. Open WhatsApp

Step 2. Tap Chat
This button is located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.
To see it you may need to tap the arrow on the top left, which allows you to go back
Step 3. Tap and hold a chat
The conversation will be selected and a check mark will appear next to it.
Step 4. Tap the "Archive" button
The icon looks like a box containing a down arrow. It is located at the top right. The conversation will disappear from the chat list. You can access it at any time: just open the folder titled "Archived chats".

Method 3 of 3: Using WhatsApp Web
Step 1. Open WhatsApp Web
If this is your first time using WhatsApp Web, you will need to pair the browser with your mobile by scanning a QR code.
Step 2. Find the conversation you want to archive
The chat list appears on the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Click the button next to the chat
It looks like a down arrow and is next to the conversation. To make the arrow appear, point the mouse cursor over a chat box.
Step 4. Click Archive Chat from the menu
The conversation will disappear from the chat list. It can be accessed at any time by opening the folder titled "Archived Chats".
