For those with capricious skin, smooth skin free from imperfections, porcelain skin looks like a mirage, but don't think it's impossible to get it. Your search for perfect skin is over! All you have to do is follow these steps.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: Preventing Sun Damage
Step 1. Protect your skin from sun damage
Even when it is cloudy, ultraviolet rays A and B (UVA and UVB) have an effect. Harmful UV rays are bad for a porcelain complexion and can cause dark spots, freckles and premature aging, with an increased risk of getting skin cancer.
- Apply sunscreen. Look for one that says “broad spectrum”, it means it will protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Make sure it has a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30.
- Reapply it every few hours if you intend to continuously and prolonged exposure to the sun.
- If you are going swimming, try applying sunscreen at least half an hour before entering the water, so it will have time to be absorbed by the skin before you soak, without dissolving. When you go out, roll it back.
Step 2. Avoid sun exposure completely
Sunscreen prevents most damage, but the safest way to keep your skin from getting damaged is not to sunbathe. Sometimes it may be impossible if you are outdoors, but there are many ways to cover yourself.
- Get in the shade if you can. Arrange under a parasol, umbrella or tree. Otherwise, stay indoors when the sun is beating down. The peak time is between 10 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.
- Shade may be in short supply on sunny days, in which case you should wear a hat or carry an umbrella.
Method 2 of 5: Keep Skin Clean
Step 1. Find the right cleanser for your face
We all have skin with different needs and problems. The skin can be oily, dry, particularly prone to black or whiteheads, and so on. The cleansing routine depends on the unique needs of your skin.
- Detergents can be bought in any supermarket or perfumery. Choose the product that best suits your needs: each detergent has a targeted action. You can also combine two for more effective results. While one product may contain exfoliating particles, another will have a toning or astringent action and so on.
- Sensitive skin requires gentle cleansers and should not be exfoliated. Scrubbing irritated skin will aggravate the situation and prevent it from healing.
- If you have skin that is sensitive to certain cleansers or your acne is particularly severe, you may want to see a dermatologist. This specialist will prescribe the right products and any medications to take to combat the problem.
- The facial skin can also be cleansed with baking soda. Let it dissolve in water and massage it into your skin. Rinse with plenty of water. It will help deep clean pores and is considerably cheaper than most face cleansers.
Step 2. The cleansing routine requires consistency
You should wash your face twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. Neglecting cleansing will not allow you to unclog your pores.
- Washing your face too frequently can dry it out. Also make sure you don't neglect hydration.
- Having consistency with the use of the same detergent is equally important. If you alternate between too many products, and each of them has different purposes, the problems could actually escalate.
- Try adding using a power brush for thorough exfoliation. Use the brush head suitable for your skin type. For example, if it is sensitive, you will not use the same head used for normal skin.
Step 3. Change and wash your pillow cases frequently
Method 3 of 5: Face Masks and Treatments
Step 1. Masks help the skin stay young and smooth
You can buy them anywhere: in perfumery, at the supermarket or in a spa.
- Generally, the mask should be left on for 15 minutes, unless the package indicates otherwise.
- To remove it, rinse with a sponge (or your fingers for lack of anything else) and lukewarm water. Finish with a final splash of cold water.
Step 2. You can also make face masks using ingredients that are typically available at home
Home treatments are not only cheaper, they are also more effective. In fact, they contain fresh and natural ingredients, therefore excellent active ingredients:
- Tomatoes. Remove the seeds and mash them to make a puree. Apply it to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes for the skin to absorb antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients. This treatment is great for moisturizing dry skin and for fighting acne. Add sugar and lemon to exfoliate and eliminate blackheads.
- Avocado. It can be used alone or together with honey and lemon. Avocado has vitamins A and E, antioxidants and oils that help the skin retain its elasticity and softness.
- Papaya. It has a texture similar to that of avocado. Try mixing it with yogurt.
- Pumpkin. Much like papaya, pumpkin has incomparable moisturizing properties. Try mixing it with yogurt and honey.
- Pineapple. Brighten and soften the skin by mixing pineapple and honey until smooth and apply the mask to your face.
- Strawberries. Mix the pulp of a handful of strawberries with honey or yogurt to achieve the right consistency. Strawberries not only moisturize the skin, they also help prevent and soothe sunburn.
- Banana. Makes the skin smoother and softer. Contains potassium, which helps fight dark circles. It is ideal to mix it with honey and lemon. You should use a very ripe banana, it will be much easier to make a mush.
- Lemon. This citrus is often added for its cleansing properties. It is an excellent tonic or astringent.
- Chocolate. Cocoa powder can be mixed with numerous ingredients: yogurt, honey, milk, clay, and so on. Its nutrients and antioxidants help fight the effects of aging.
- Egg whites. Mixed with a few drops of milk and honey, they are extremely effective against acne. Better if you leave some loose skin around the eyes and mouth, because the egg white, when it dries up, sticks a lot to the skin.
- Milk. Milk can be used in combination with other ingredients to make a mask, but it is also good on its own, simply to cleanse the face. Soak a cotton ball and massage it into your face. It will moisturize and nourish the skin, but it will also cleanse it. It also helps to even out the complexion and achieve a porcelain-like effect. Queen Elizabeth of England and Cleopatra used to take milk baths to have a clear and radiant complexion. Milk contains vitamins A and D, which soften the skin.
- Honey, yogurt and oats are just some of the ingredients that are generally mixed with milk.
Method 4 of 5: Maintain Healthy Skin
Step 1. Drink lots of water
For our body this element is essential. The skin, like any other organ, needs water to eliminate toxins. Water also helps prevent dry skin.
Step 2. Drink white tea
It is rich in antioxidants and can be added to any other type of tea without compromising its flavor. Try integrating it into your daily routine.
Step 3. Eat healthy
Your diet must meet all the needs of the body and provide you with the necessary vitamins and nutrients. Stay away from fatty foods, especially if you have oily skin.
Step 4. Avoid touching your face with your fingers at all costs
- If you have bangs or a tuft that falls over your eyes, you may be tempted to move it often. Prevent your fingers from coming into contact with the skin. The forehead can become oily, favoring the appearance of imperfections, if it is touched continuously.
- If you wear glasses, the places where the frame comes into contact with the skin are prone to blemishes. Sweat causes pores to clog, and every time you touch your face to adjust your glasses, it causes oil to build up. You may want to pay a lot more attention, but don't wash your face too often.
- Avoid scratching or picking at the scabs. This will cause scarring or leave dark spots.
Method 5 of 5: The Makeup
Step 1. Choose a powder foundation, preferably compact, lighter than your skin, but not too much
Step 2. Take a thick, rounded brush and apply the foundation in circular motions on the cheeks, chin, forehead and nose
Step 3. Take a smaller brush, preferably an oblique one (ie one whose hair length gradually decreases)
Use it to even out the foundation, insisting on the transition areas between one area and another of the face.
Step 4. Choose a blush that gives a healthy, rosy glow to the cheeks, without being too noticeable
Make sure the end result is natural and light.
Step 5. Apply the blush on the cheeks using the first brush, follow a circular motion
Try to get a natural result.
Step 6. Take the second brush and gently pat some blush on the cheekbones, ending at the hairline
This will make the face more refined and elegant.
Step 7. If you have red flecks, pimples or red cheeks, don't use blush
Cover as much redness as possible with foundation. If you use a low to medium coverage one, you won't be able to completely camouflage them, so the blushes on your cheeks will vaguely resemble the effect of the blush.
Advice
- Drink lots of water! Hydration is the key to having a perfect complexion.
- Make up in a natural and light way. Make-up must be practically invisible. Blend the products well, especially at the hairline.
- If you get pimples on your forehead because you wear bangs or your glasses rub against your skin, buy cleansing wipes to keep on hand throughout the day to prevent oil build-up.
- Drink some white tea! It is rich in antioxidants and cleans and rejuvenates the skin!
Warnings
- Foundation and other makeup leave residue in your pores, so if you wear makeup, clean your face thoroughly before going to sleep. Never fall asleep wearing makeup! You will regret it in the morning.
- If you have sensitive skin, do not exfoliate it and use mild cleansers, this will prevent irritation.
- Resist the temptation to squeeze pimples, tease blemishes, or touch your face.
- Fatty foods worsen the condition of oily skin.
