If swimsuit season is upon us or you prefer a hairless look, bikini line hair removal is a must. Unfortunately, the razor causes irritation and cuts, while waxing is expensive and painful. If you want an easy result on a budget, try using a depilatory cream. Choose a gentle formula and you will soon be silky smooth.
Steps
Step 1. Decide how much you want to shave
Maybe you have a very clear idea of how much skin will be bare or maybe not. In this second case it is better to decide exactly what you want. Remember that hair removal can take some time, so if you just want to be ready for the costume fitting, it may be better to remove the minimum amount of hair.
- Do you want to remove only the fluff that appears from the underwear?
- Do you want to remove more and leave only a strip or a well-defined triangle?
- Do you want a "Brazilian" hair removal and remove everything?
Step 2. Wash yourself
As with all types of hair removal, you need to be sure there is nothing standing in the way. Furthermore, good hygiene, especially intimate hygiene, is essential. Take a moment to wash yourself, remove the hairs that have come off on their own and the dead cells. Use an exfoliant to soften the skin and to open the pores a little, so as to make hair removal easier.
Step 3. Trim the hair
Depilatory creams are fantastic because there is no need for great efforts; just spread them and wait. However, it will take much longer (and therefore may be more damaging to your skin) if you have long, thick hair. Speed up the process by cutting the hair down to half a centimeter in length. Use nail or sewing scissors or a specific electric razor.
Even if you don't want total hair removal, it would be great to shorten all the hairs. This will prevent longer hair from sticking out of your panties or bikini
Step 4. Wet the skin
Although you can use a depilatory cream on dry skin, wetting your bikini area with a little hot water will open the hair pores and hair removal will be easier. Soak in the tub or use the hand shower. Dry a little, leaving the skin slightly damp before applying the cream so that it does not slip off.
Step 5. Apply the cream
Put some on your fingertips and spread it on the area you want to shave. Use only enough amount to coat the root of the hair but not so little that you can see your skin through.
- If you are doing a "Brazilian" hair removal, do a sensitivity test by applying the cream to a small area before covering the entire pubis.
- Prevents the cream from entering the vaginal canal or near the anus; if inserted internally it can cause infections.
Step 6. Give her time to act
Keep a watch handy and keep track of how long you keep the cream applied. The instructions usually recommend waiting 3-5 minutes before rinsing.
If at any time the cream causes you to sting or tingle, rinse immediately with warm water
Step 7. Rinse the cream in a small test area
There are no two people with the same type of hair, so the time span of 3-5 minutes may be too small or too large depending on the type of skin and coat. If most of the fluff comes off and no clumps remain, you're done. If the hair still sticks to the skin, wait five more minutes.
Do not exceed 10 minutes of laying (no more than 5 minutes more than the first 5)
Step 8. Wash off all of the cream
Use a steady stream of water or a damp cloth to remove it completely. Make sure there is no residue to avoid irritation and infection.
Step 9. Moisturize the skin
After leaving the skin in chemicals, it is probably dry and irritated. Use a moisturizer for sensitive skin to restore nutrients and minimize irritation.
Step 10. Maintain your hair removal
One of the benefits of depilatory cream is that it gives longer lasting results than shaving. However, unlike waxing, the regrowth period varies from 3 to 6 days after using the cream. Keeping your bikini line smooth requires 1-2 applications of hair removal cream per week.
Advice
If this is your first time using a depilatory cream, avoid a complete “Brazilian” hair removal to avoid irritation and damage to the skin
Warnings
- Many people have had unpleasant reactions after using depilatory creams on the bikini area. This is a very sensitive area and you should always do a test on a small area of skin before proceeding!
- Read the label and information leaflet carefully.
