How to Dress Up as a Slender Man: 5 Steps

Do you want to dress up as your favorite supernatural being for a cosplay convention or for Halloween? Then try to create your own slender man costume, you will be able to recreate his appearance in an easy and convincing way.

Steps

Step 1. Recreate the typical elongated body

Slender man is famous for his extremely long body. To recreate it, you can use stilts or wedge shoes and gain inches in height. Consider these two options only if you are sure you can keep your balance and not get hurt.

Step 2. Recreate the pallor of the character

The first step in achieving a believable cosplay is to mimic the paleness of her body. In fact, the slender man is famous for his completely uniform complexion and the absence of facial features. There are a number of ways to achieve this effect beyond simply painting the body white.

• Use a white elastane jumpsuit. These suits cover the whole body and are made with an elastic material. You may have seen them worn by fans in the colors of their favorite team before, but you'll have to buy an all-white one for the slender man disguise.
• Use white nylons to cover your head and face. This material is thick enough to erase facial features, but at the same time thin enough for you to breathe.
• You can use an all white mask along with white gloves. Since the eye holes are not part of the slenderman costume you can glue pieces of sheer white fabric into the holes. This will give you the look you want and still be able to see through the fabric.

Step 3. Find the perfect outfit

Slender man always wears a black suit. Wear a white shirt, jacket, and black pants over the white jumpsuit. Pair the suit with a black tie and you will look perfect.

Step 4. Add the tentacles

Often we see depictions of a slender man with black tentacles protruding from his back. While you can recreate a good costume without the tentacles (as they only appear occasionally), to have the perfect disguise you'll need to make and add them. You will need to design and assemble them yourself, so it would be best to start a little early to have more time.

• Use black foam polystyrene or plastic float tubes (usually used in swimming pools or by the sea) and wire. Cut the wire to the desired length and shape it according to the shape of the tentacle. Then cut the floating tubes into strips a few centimeters thick and glue them with hot glue onto the wire. If they are too long, you can cut the ends with scissors after gluing them.

  

• Cover the thread with black masking tape and shape it into the desired shape. To add thickness, cover the yarn with a cotton pad before placing the tape.

  

• Make tentacles with a special kind of clay. There is a special type of very light clay on the market that dries in the air in a few days. Shape the pongo into the desired shape for the tentacles and let them dry. When the material has dried, use black spray paint to paint it.

  

• Attach or sew them to the back of your suit, bearing in mind that you will only wear this jacket for the costume and will not be able to use it for other purposes in the future.

  

Step 5. Complete your costume

Put on some black shoes and socks to finish off the bottom of the costume. Make sure the tentacles are properly secured and your outfit is in order. As soon as you have checked these details you will be ready to show off your costume!
