Part 1 of 3: Choosing the Stock Exchange
Step 1. Choose the right type of bag
You can use a backpack, a medium-sized handbag, or a large large bag, depending on the length of your stay on the beach and the number of items you want to take with you.
- If you have chosen to go to the beach with children and family members, it is advisable to opt for a very large and water-resistant bag, as you will most likely need to have a lot more things on hand than when you are alone or with friends.
- Don't use your favorite bag. Since you are going to the beach, the bag may come in contact with the sand and sea water. Choose one that you can place on the sand without worry.
Step 2. Organization first of all
Opt for a bag with multiple pockets and compartments. Since you will have to carry many different objects of different sizes with you, pockets and compartments will allow you to find everything quickly.
- At the end of the day, the compartments will allow you to separate bagged items, such as flip flops and towels, from those you want to keep clean.
- If you are skilled in sewing, you can decide to add comfortable pockets to a bag that does not have them.
- Alternatively, you can purchase a special purse organizer to have numerous pockets and compartments.
Step 3. Organize and maximize spaces
Since your bag will have to contain many different objects, it is important that you fill it adequately to be able to fit everything in it. Fold or roll up the beach towels and place them on the bottom of the bag.
- If you want your towels to take up as little space as possible, opt for a travel style, thin and light.
- Alternatively, you can place the towels inside the beach towel, roll it up tightly and slide it vertically into the bag so you can take it off first on arrival.
Part 2 of 3: Put the Necessary in the Bag
Step 1. Start with body care products
Put everything you need for skin and hair in the bag: sun and insect protection, lip balm, after-sun cream, protective oil for hair and sunglasses.
- Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF equal to or greater than 15. Read and follow the directions on the package for use and reapply as often as necessary.
- As a general rule, it is advisable to apply the sunscreen 30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply it in the same amount every two hours.
- Wide sunglasses provide better protection for the eyes and the delicate skin around the eyes.
- If you own an expensive pair of sunglasses, leave them at home where they don't risk breaking, getting streaked with sand, or being accidentally swept away by the waves.
- Put the cosmetic products in a bag to avoid staining other items.
Step 2. Put the necessary clothing items in the bag
For a day at the beach you should bring a wide-brimmed hat, a change of clean clothes, a bathing suit (unless you decide to wear it before you leave the house), a headband or accessories to gather your hair, a brush and a pair of flip flops.
- Roll up the clean clothes and place them on the bottom of the bag, next to the towels.
- Depending on the weather conditions you may want to add a lightweight sweatshirt or jacket.
- If you don't like the contact of wet fabric on your skin, add a second swimsuit to change after taking a bath.
Step 3. Don't forget the water
On average, doctors recommend that an adult drink about two liters of water per day. However, remember that when exposed to the sun, the body needs even more water.
- The advice is to bring about two bottles of water per person and an additional four liters of water.
- To reduce costs and waste, use reusable bottles.
- You can fill the water bottles halfway and store them in the freezer for a whole night, once at the beach it will be enough to pour water at room temperature to get a refreshing drink quickly.
- If you intend to fill the bottles with water from a fountain, consider choosing them with a filter.
- Replace the bottles with thermal drink holders if you want to keep your water cool.
Step 4. Bring some snacks
Even if you know that there are numerous restaurants within walking distance of the beach, it is always useful to have some snacks available, especially when there are children around. Make sure you keep them out of direct sunlight. Prepare and add to the bag:
- 1 sandwich per person. If you don't want to carry a cooler and fear that if you heat up the ingredients, you can make a sandwich with jam or peanut butter.
- Dried fruit, raisins and crackers.
- Fresh fruit.
- Energy or cereal bars.
- If some of your ingredients need to be kept cool, bring a cooler bag.
Step 5. Bring umbrellas and beach chairs (optional)
As wide as it may be, putting these items in a beach bag is virtually impossible. If to experience a perfect day on the beach you need to have chairs, deck chairs and umbrellas, be prepared to bring them with you separately or consider renting them on site.
- Search online or call the hotel, facility or tourist center of the place that will host you and ask about the possibility of renting beach equipment directly on site.
- Rental shops will sometimes be available even a short distance from the beach. Check with the vendors of beach equipment and find out if they also have rates for renting beach chairs and umbrellas.
Step 6. Add a whistle (optional)
Especially if you intend to go to the beach with a large group of children, a whistle can be useful to get their attention in case they stray. Make sure they know the sound of the "family whistle" to make sure they get back to base quickly.
Step 7. Put a first aid kit in the bag
Whether there are children or not, it is always helpful to have everything you need for first aid. Your kit will need to include:
- Patches;
- Antibiotic ointment;
- Antihistamines / antiallergics;
- Calendula cream (for sunburn);
- Painkillers for adults and children.
Part 3 of 3: Put the Extra Stuff in the Bag
Step 1. Bring some beach toys
The advice is to put them in a soft mesh bag to be able to easily shake them from the sand after use.
Step 2. Add a good book
When on the beach, having something to read on hand is always a good idea, there is no better place to immerse yourself in reading a good book.
Step 3. Bring a portable audio speaker for your multimedia devices (smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, etc.) that is equipped with a microphone
It is a very fun tool, especially if you plan to spend a day on the beach with a group of friends.
There are waterproof cases on the market for almost every type of electronic device, from the iPhone, to the Kindle, to the camera. Be foresight, even a small amount of sand or water may be enough to ruin one of your favorite gadgets forever
Step 4. Put a deck of cards in the bag
It will be fun to challenge friends to a couple of card games while relaxing on the sand.
Step 5. Add binoculars
If you love to admire the horizon, once you reach your destination you will be happy to have binoculars at hand.
Advice
- Instead of putting your entire wallet in your purse, carry only what you need with you: driver's license, money, ATM. The same goes for the keys. Put everything in a water-resistant document holder and store it in a specific compartment of the bag, preferably with a zip.
- Heavier items, such as books, should be placed on the bottom of the bag.
- Soft foods, such as fruits, should be placed at the top of the bag.
- To keep your electronic devices safe, put them in a zippered pocket.
- Also carry a large bag, preferably sealable, in which to store wet or sanded towels and clothing before leaving the beach.
- Add a few more sealable bags, preferably of different sizes, to protect your items from sand and sea water.
- To avoid having to fill your bag in a hurry and risk forgetting something, prepare it the previous evening.
