The lotus flower (Nelumbo nucifera) is also known as Indian lotus, sacred lily, Indian bean and sometimes simply as "Lotus". It is the flower of a perennial aquatic plant native to tropical Asia and Australia.
The lotus has a distinctive pod, from which beautiful very large petals extend. Often used to represent beauty, purity, non-attachment and grace, the lotus flower is an elegant image to draw. This tutorial will show you how to draw one.
Steps
Step 1. Start by drawing an oval with dots inside
This will be the flower pod.
Step 2. Draw the first level of petals surrounding the central part
Step 3. Draw the stamens around the pod
Step 4. Draw a second layer of petals
Step 5. Add detail by drawing two or three curved lines at the tip and base of the petals
Step 6. Draw some sepals at the base of the flower
Add two long, curved lines for the stamen.
