A personalized pillow is a great way to decorate a room or to make a nice gift. Different pillow models require special stitching and embroidery. If you don't want to use a sewing machine, then you can make a pillow case out of a fleece fabric, a synthetic fiber that doesn't fray. The fleece also comes in an assortment of colors and designs, such as sports team logos or cartoon characters. It is an activity that can be chosen for both children and adults. You can buy all the material you need in a haberdashery or on the internet and finish the project in an hour. In this article you will find all the indications for creating a seamless pillow.
Steps
Step 1. Buy 90 cm of 2 fleece fabrics
Many haberdasheries offer different colors, patterns and thicknesses of fleece. Don't get them too thick or they might be hard to work with.
Step 2. Buy a pillow that is no larger than 60cm
You can also take some filling fiber and fill the pillowcase yourself. This work is easily adaptable to the shape of the pillow you want to use.
Step 3. Cut the fleece fabric to be 10cm longer and 10cm wider than the size of your pillow
You will need 5 cm of additional fabric on each side for the fringes. Use a sharp pair of fabric scissors or a wheel cutter and ruler to make sure you cut straight.
If you want longer fringes, cut each fabric so that it is between 20 and 30 cm longer and wider than the pillow. If the person making the pillowcase is a child, be sure to make long fringes
Step 4. Spread the 2 pieces of fabric on top of each other, aligning them as much as possible
Start at one end and cut a fringe every 2.5cm. You will cut according to the tolerance you have chosen to make for the fringes.
For example, if you cut the fleece fabric so that it is 20 cm longer in both height and width, there will be 10 cm left on each side to make the fringes. Cut the parts with a depth of 10 cm every 2.5 cm. If the fabric is wider than 30 cm, then cut fringes that are 15 cm long every 2.5 cm
Step 5. Cut out a small square from each corner of the fabric
This will eliminate additional fabric and have a more snug pillow shape. Cut out 5 cm for a small pillow, 10 cm for a medium one and 15 cm for a larger pillow.
Step 6. Join the back of the fabrics
The fringes should match. Take a fringe from each fabric and tie a tight double knot.
Step 7. Continue knotting the edges together until you complete 3 sides
When you get to the last side, insert the cushion or stuffing into the space. Make the double knots on the last part.
