The bags in wheat husks are thermal bags, with padding made up of natural substances, which are applied to the muscles and joints to relieve pain and fatigue. They can also be used to heat pet beds. Read these steps to make a wheat husk bag.
Steps
Step 1. Take your fabric measurements
Cut a strip of fabric measuring 20.32cm wide x 111.76cm long.
Step 2. Fold the fabric strip in half lengthwise
Put the sides together so that the strip measures 20.32cm x 55.88cm.
Step 3. Sew the two edges together
Sew a 6.35mm seam.
Step 4. Turn the bag upside down
Fold the open edge by 1.27 cm.
Step 5. Sew a straight seam in the center of the fabric
It begins and ends at a distance of 5.08 cm from both the top and the base of the bag.
Step 6. Fill both sides of the bag with the dried wheat husk
Do not fill more than 2/3 full.
Step 7. Close the end of the bag securing it with pins
Wrap it around your neck, elbow, knee, or any other part of your body that you might apply it to, to make sure it fits well.
If it doesn't fit well, it may be too full. Adjust the amount of grain as needed
Step 8. Sew the opening at 6.35 mm from the folded edge
Step 9. Sterilize the bag
Make sure the grain is completely dry by wrapping the bag in a paper towel in the microwave.
Heat the bag for 2 to 3 minutes, then let it cool for at least 2 hours. Shake the bag well and then repeat the process using a dry napkin. If the second napkin remains damp, after putting the bag in the microwave, let it cool for at least 2 hours and repeat the process a third time
Advice
- Wheat husk bags, if applied cold, are useful for treating bruises, bruises and inflammatory processes.
- To make a bag of wheat husks quickly, fill a large sock with dried wheat husks. Leave enough room at the top of the sock to close it with a rubber band and then tie a string or ribbon around the toe.
- Wheat husks can be purchased in stores that sell animal feed or hunting equipment. You can also find forage corn at bird food stores.
- Sift the dried wheat and remove any impurities, such as panocchie residues, sticks, dead insects, or pebbles. Shake as much as possible to remove all impurities.
- You will have to do various tests to establish the time it takes to heat the bag because microwave ovens are not all the same. Start with 1 minute and if the bag is not hot enough, increase it by 30 seconds at a time, until it reaches the desired temperature.
Warnings
- Be careful not to overheat the grain husk bag. A bag heated for a long time could cause skin burns.
- Do not heat the bag in the microwave for a long time. The bag and the wheat chaff could catch fire.
- Don't use popcorn for the microwave.
