Ingrediants
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) of white sugar
- 100 g of milk and 100 g of cream mixed together
- 1/2 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- You can replace the milk and cream mixture with milk or whipped cream, but in both cases you will get a different result.
Steps
Step 1. Combine the sugar, cream and milk mixture and vanilla in a 500ml food bag
Stir to mix the ingredients.
- If you don't like vanilla ice cream, replace the extract with fruit or chocolate syrup.
- You could also do this in a bowl, but why mess it up if it's not necessary?
- Make sure the sugar dissolves completely!
Step 2. Seal the bag airtight
Allow all excess air to escape to prevent the bag from opening during the ice cream making process.
If you are concerned that your bag will break, put it in a second protective bag. If the bag leaks, the cooling process may take longer
Step 3. Pour the ice and salt into the larger bag
It should fill about half of its capacity.
- Raw, Kosher, and rock salt are ideal for this preparation, however you can also use simple table salt, knowing that a fine salt could give poor results.
- Insert the sealed bag into the larger bag containing the salt and ice. The salt and ice will freeze the creamy mixture without becoming part of it.
- Eliminates excess air from the larger bag and also seals tightly.
Step 4. Put on the gloves and start shaking it
If you don't have gloves on hand, use a towel. Your hands will appreciate being protected from extreme cold.
Shake the bag for 5-10 minutes. After that, look at the consistency of the ice cream to find out if it's ready
Step 5. Eat it or serve it
After shaking it properly, remove the ice cream bag from the ice and salt mixture. Make sure the two ingredients can't come into contact with your ice cream before taking it out of the second bag!
- Grab a spoon and enjoy your ice cream!
- If you wish, you can cut a corner of the bag containing the ice cream to conveniently pour it into a bowl.
