This article shows you how to prevent your Xbox Live Gold paid membership from automatically renewing when it expires. You can cancel your Gold subscription to this service provided by Microsoft by logging into Xbox.com using your user profile. Starting from 2018 onwards, the ability to automatically cancel the renewal of the Gold subscription to the Xbox Live service directly from the Xbox One or an Xbox 360 has been eliminated.
Steps
Step 1. Log in to the Xbox platform website
Use the URL: https://www.xbox.com/it-it/ and the internet browser of your choice.
Step 2. Sign in using your Xbox Live account
Select the link Log in located in the upper right corner of the window, then enter your account email address and its security password. The web page will automatically update, based on your Xbox Live account information. In some cases you may need to press the button again Log in and select your account name displayed at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
- If you are already logged into Xbox.com with your Live account, you can skip this step.
- If the login credentials are stored in the internet browser in use, by selecting the link Log in a drop-down menu will appear from which you can choose which user account to use to login.
Step 3. Click your profile picture
It's in the upper right corner of the page. If you haven't set up an Xbox Live profile picture yet, a gray stylized human silhouette will appear. A small drop-down menu will appear.
Step 4. Choose the Subscriptions option
It is one of the last items on the menu starting from the top.
Step 5. Scroll through the list until you find the "Prepaid Xbox LIVE Gold Annual Membership" option
It features the green Xbox logo and should be placed approximately in the middle of the page.
Step 6. Click the blue Payment and Billing link
It is located under the heading "Prepaid Annual Xbox LIVE Gold Membership". You will be automatically redirected to the web page for your Gold subscription to the Xbox Live service.
Step 7. Choose the Cancel or Manage option
It is located to the right of the "Prepaid Xbox LIVE Gold Annual Membership" entry at the top of the "Payment and Billing" section. As soon as you select the link Cancel or Manage, a drop-down menu will appear. Choose the option "Turn off automatic renewal".

Step 8. When prompted, select Confirm Cancellation
In this way, the Gold subscription to the Xbox Live service will no longer be automatically renewed upon the natural expiration of the contract.
