This article explains how to use the pause feature on TikTok to temporarily stop a video in the application.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Pause another User's Video
Step 1. Open the TikTok app on your device
The icon is represented by a white musical note inside a black box. It is usually found on the Home screen.
Step 2. Scroll through the videos until you find one of your interest
Videos play automatically as you scroll through them.
Step 3. Tap the video while it is playing
That way, it will be paused.
Tap the video again to restart playback, which will resume from the same point you stopped it
Method 2 of 2: Pause a Video While Recording
Step 1. Open the TikTok app on your device
The icon looks like a white musical note in a black box. It is usually found on the Home screen.
Step 2. Tap the + button at the bottom of the screen
Step 3. Click Sounds to select a suitable song for your video
You can use the search bar at the top of the screen for the purpose of searching by category or entering a keyword.
To hear a preview of the song, tap the play button on its thumbnail
Step 4. Select Use this sound
You will then return to the registration screen.
Step 5. Press and hold the record button
As long as you hold it down, TikTok will continue recording.
Step 6. Lift your finger to pause the recording
The video you recorded will be saved as a separate segment.
To continue recording, press and hold the button again to create the next segment
Step 7. Tap the check mark icon when you finish recording permanently
You will then be given the option to edit the video and publish it.
