How to Receive a Notification When a User Posts a Post on Instagram

This wikiHow teaches you how to get notified when someone you follow publishes a new post on Instagram.

Steps

Step 1. Open Instagram on your device

The icon of this app depicts the symbol of a retro camera on a fuchsia background.

If the login does not happen automatically, enter your username and password, then click on Log in.

Step 2. Click on the profile button

The icon depicts a human silhouette and is located in the lower right corner.

If you see an image in your feed that the user posted that you want to receive notifications from, you can skip this step and the next two

Step 3. Click on Followed

This button is located above the key Edit your profile and indicate the number of people you follow.

Step 4. Select a user you follow

Step 5. Open the "Options" menu

This button is located in the upper right corner and features three horizontal dots (if you're using an iPhone or iPad) or three vertical dots (if you're using an Android device).

If you access a post from the feed, you can find this button in the top right corner of the post

Step 6. Click on Enable post notifications

You will receive a push notification every time this user posts something new on Instagram.

If you have trouble receiving notifications after activating this feature, make sure push notifications are also activated in your mobile phone settings. If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you'll need to activate the button next to the post notifications option. On Android devices you will need to unblock notifications by first opening the app Settings. Then, select App and activate the box Show notifications in the section dedicated to Instagram.
