Facebook introduced the functionality of making live broadcasts that can be watched on any device. With Facebook Live, anyone with a Facebook account and a computer, smartphone or tablet can direct for all their friends and followers. Live broadcasts can be found in real time in the "News" section. You can also get notified when your favorite users start a new live broadcast. This article explains how to find and watch live videos on Facebook.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the Facebook Application
Step 1. Open the Facebook application on your device
The Facebook application is characterized by a blue icon with a white "f". Press on it on the Home screen or in the application menu to launch Facebook.
If the login does not happen automatically, enter the e-mail address or phone number and the password associated with your Facebook account. Then, click on Log in.
Step 2. Tap on the television symbol
It sits at the top of the screen on Android phones and tablets. In the case of iPhones and iPads, it is located at the bottom of the screen. This tab is called "Watch". Allows you to view the list of videos posted by users and the pages you follow. It also shows a series of recommended videos that have been shared by other accounts.
If you don't see the "Watch" tab at the top of the screen, tap on the three horizontal lines symbol (☰) in the upper left corner to view the menu. Then, select Watch video.
Step 3. Click on the magnifying glass symbol (only if you are using an iPhone)
On iPhones, you have to press on the magnifying glass symbol in the upper right corner to display the search bar at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Enter a username, video title or category in the search bar
The search bar is located at the top of the screen. This procedure allows you to filter the videos according to your interests.
- Alternatively, you can scroll down the feed until you find a menu titled "Videos on Watch". Press the red button with the inscription Live to see the general list of suggested streams that have been shared by users and pages you follow.
- If you are using an iPad or another tablet, you can press on the tab with the inscription Live at the top of the screen. You will then be shown the list of recommended live broadcasts that have been shared by users and pages you follow. You will also be able to see other suggested videos.
Step 5. Click on Live
This button is located at the top of the page, next to the "Filters" option. The search results will then be filtered to show live video instead of recorded video.
Step 6. Select a video
Live videos have a red "Live" icon, located in the upper left corner. Click on the video image or the title below to view it.
The comments will be displayed in real time below the video
Step 7. Press the X symbol or the arrow to stop watching the live broadcast
When you want to stop watching the video, press on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner of the video (iPhone and iPad) or on the back button at the bottom of the screen (Android phones or tablets).
Method 2 of 2: Using a PC or Mac
Step 1. Visit https://www.facebook.com using a browser
You can use any browser you have installed on your PC or Mac.
If login to Facebook doesn't happen automatically, enter the email address or phone number and password associated with your account at the top of the screen. Then, click on Log in.
Step 2. Click on the television symbol
It is located at the top of the screen. This tab is called "Watch". This will show the list of videos of users and people you follow on Facebook, but also other suggested videos.
If you don't see the "Watch" tab at the top of the screen, click on the button that says it Other on the left menu. Then, select Watch.
Step 3. Click Live
This option is located on the left menu. You will be shown the list of live broadcasts shared by users and pages you follow. Recommended live broadcasts will also be displayed.
Alternatively, you can enter a title, user or category in the search bar at the top of the left menu. Then click on the switch next to the option Live in the section of the menu entitled Filters. Live video will be displayed instead of recorded video.
Step 4. Click on a video
Live broadcasts have a red label with "Live" in the upper left corner. Click on the video image or title below. The movie will play in the browser.

Step 5. Click on the X symbol to stop viewing the video
When you want to stop watching it, click on the "X" symbol in the upper left corner of the video.
