If you have a person's phone number, you may be able to use it to find their Facebook account. Provided the number has been associated with a profile, the account will appear in the search results. This article explains how to search for a phone number on Facebook using the website or application.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using Facebook.com
Step 1. Visit https://facebook.com via a browser
This method works the same on computers, phones, and tablets.
Log in to your account if prompted
Step 2. Click on the search bar to activate the text field
This bar is at the top of the page.
Step 3. Enter the 10-digit phone number, including area code
Make sure you press the Enter key on your keyboard to start the search. You can enter the number in the format "555-5555555" or "5555555555", as this does not affect in any way.
A single result should appear after the search. If you don't get any, this person probably has a private profile and will therefore not appear in the search results. It is also possible that he does not have a Facebook account linked to this number
Step 4. Click on the result
This is the Facebook account associated with the phone number entered.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Application
Step 1. Open the Facebook app on your phone or tablet
The icon looks like a white "f" on a blue background. You can find it on the Home screen, in the application menu or by doing a search.
This method works on both iOS and Android devices
Step 2. Press the button that allows you to search
The magnifying glass symbol is located in the upper right corner of the application.
By pressing on the magnifying glass, the list of your latest searches will appear and the keyboard will open
Step 3. Enter the number you want to search for
You may need to press the? 123 key to switch to the numeric keypad.
Step 4. Enter the 10-digit phone number, including area code
Make sure you tap the magnifying glass or the enter key on your keyboard to start the search. You can enter the number in the format "555-5555555" or "5555555555", it doesn't matter.
