Step 1. Remove the left panel of the computer and clean it

  • Carefully unscrew the rear screws that secure the left panel of your PC to the case.
  • Slide it back and remove it.
  • Take a good look at the panel and decide which parts you want to put the LED lights on.
  • Once you have chosen, take some tissue paper and wet it with alcohol.
  • Scrub the surfaces inside the panel to remove dust, oil, or any other substance that may prevent you from sticking something to these same surfaces.

Step 2. Cut the LED light strips and set them aside

  • Measure and cut the LED strips. Most strips allow you to cut them every 3 LEDs, so keep that in mind.
  • Take off the back of the LED strips and attach them to the panel.

Step 3. Connect the strips in series

  • Measure and cut the thread to connect the strips in series. Cut it out leaving a little more, as you will need to use wire cutters to remove the insulation from the end of the wires.
  • Using the welding gun, connect the wires to the LED strips. Make sure the diodes (+/–) are connected correctly. Most of the wires are colored according to a code, so you shouldn't be too likely to make the mistake of connecting the positive diodes to the negative ones. The white or black threads are positive and the other colors should be negative.
  • Use hot glue to secure the wires so they don't move around inside the case.

Step 4. Join the LED strips into the MOLEX connector

  • The first end of the flexible LED strips should have a couple of wires to connect the electricity to. If not, solder two wires to the positive and negative terminals.
  • Take your MOLEX connector. The yellow wire is 12V and the black is the ground. Choose a connector you want to use to join the link. The end of the connector where the two branches join will be where you plug in the power.
  • Use the wire cutters to divide the yellow from the black thread.
  • Solder the black (ground) wire from your MOLEX connector to one of the wires in your strip group.
  • Do the same for the other strand.
  • Secure the connections using electrical tape.
