This article explains how to customize the settings associated with WeChat notifications for messages, video calls, ringtone and vibration using Android.
Steps
Step 1. Open WeChat on Android
The icon looks like two white speech bubbles on a green background and is located in the applications menu.
Step 2. Tap the icon
called "I".
It is located at the bottom right and opens the navigation menu.
If WeChat should show you a specific conversation, tap the top left button to go back to the conversation list. At the bottom of the screen you will see several tabs, including "Me"
Step 3. Tap Settings
This button is located at the bottom of the navigation menu.
Step 4. Tap Notifications to open the related settings
Step 5. Swipe the New Message Alerts button to turn it on or off
If you turn it off, you will no longer be notified on the main screen or in the notification area when you receive a new message within a conversation.
Step 6. Swipe the Video Call Alerts button to turn it on or off
Once deactivated, you will no longer be notified on the main screen or in the notification area when someone calls you.
This option is only valid for video calls forwarded on WeChat, while it is not valid for those coming from other applications installed on the device
Step 7. Swipe the Notification Center button to turn it on or off
Disabling this option does not disable notifications, but the ones you receive will no longer contain information such as sender and summary.
Step 8. Swipe the Ring button to turn it on or off, which will silence all notifications on your device
- If you want to temporarily turn off the ringer, you can also mute the device itself.
- If you decide to leave the sound on, you can customize the ringtone by tapping "Notifications", where you can choose one from a list.
Step 9. Swipe the App Vibration button to turn it on or off
Activated this option, the device will vibrate every time you receive a new message within a conversation.
