This article explains how to send an email from a computer to a mobile phone in the form of an SMS. You can do this by entering the recipient's mobile number in the "To" field of the e-mail, followed by the address of the server of the telephone company that manages the e-mails. At this point you will simply have to write the text of your e-mail. It should be noted that, in most cases, the maximum length limit of an SMS is 160 characters (in some cases even less) and many managers do not support sending MMS in this way (therefore it will not be possible to enter multimedia contents within the text of the e-mail).
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Trace the Recipient's Address
Step 1. Log in to the Email2SMS website
Visit the URL https://email2sms.info/ using your computer's internet browser. You will need to use this website to find the domain of the email address to which to send your message. The domain of an e-mail address is the portion of text that appears after the "@" symbol.
Step 2. Scroll down the page to the "Search the list" section
It is visible at the top of the page.
Step 3. Click on the "Country" drop-down menu
It is located on the left side of the "Search the list" section.
Step 4. Select the country where the mobile number of the recipient of your e-mail is registered
Scroll through the list that appears until you find the name of the country in question, then select it by clicking on it with the mouse.
Step 5. Click on the "Carrier" text field
It is located to the right of the "Country" drop-down menu.
Step 6. Enter the name of the carrier
This is the telephone company to which the mobile number of the recipient of your e-mail refers.
- For example, if the recipient of the email has a Vodafone mobile number, you will need to type in the keyword vodafone.
- In this case it is not necessary to perform a precise search, you can use both capital letters and lowercase letters to enter the manager's name; however, you will need to type the exact name of the handler even if it contains special symbols.
Step 7. Look at the "Gateway" entry
The address displayed under "Gateway" and characterized by the following format "number @ domain" corresponds to the address that you must enter in the "To" field of your e-mail.
- You may need to scroll down the page to locate the "Gateway" entry for the operator you are looking for.
- In some cases, in the face of a single telephone operator, there will be more options relating to different categories. Normally all these options will have the same address.
Part 2 of 2: Send a Message
Step 1. Launch your email client or access your email inbox via internet browser
You can send an email to a mobile phone using a desktop client, app or website such as Outlook, Gmail or Yahoo.
Step 2. Create a new message
Click on the button write, New one or +. The compose window for a new e-mail will be displayed.
Step 3. Enter the recipient's address into the "To:
".
Enter the recipient's mobile number, not including the country code, followed by the domain of the carrier's email address.
- For example, to send a message to an Italian vodafone mobile number 3401234567 you will need to use the following e-mail address [email protected].
- You can add an object by typing it in the "Subject" field, but this is not necessary information and in some cases it may be removed by the manager.
Step 4. Enter the message you want to send to the indicated person
Type it inside the appropriate email compose window area.
Remember that the length of the text should not exceed 160 characters
Step 5. Send the message
Click on the button Send or icon
. In a few moments, the person you indicated as the recipient of the email will receive your message in the form of an SMS.
