If you want to express your emotions online, all you need is your computer keyboard! Emoticons use punctuation for the purpose of expressing emotions and moods, while more sophisticated emojis are images and "smilies" created for the same purpose. If you are upset and angry about something and want to put it out on the internet, you have a wide choice of emoticons and emojis to choose from.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Insert Emoticons in Chat
Step 1. Add emoticon on Facebook chat
You can choose from several ready-to-use emoticons by selecting and clicking on an image of your choice among those present in the chat window. You can also simply type the characters with the keyboard, and they will be converted into the corresponding image.
- To make an angry face, type>:(
- You can add "stickers" to your Facebook chat to have access to other images of angry faces with different styles.
Step 2. Add an emoticon to Skype

Step 4. Add an emoticon to iMessage

Method 2 of 2: Create Emoticons by Typing on the Keyboard
Step 1. Create horizontal angry faces
These types of emoticons are considered "western" and are usually used in both text and chat rooms. Below are the most common angry faces of this type, which most chat applications will automatically convert to images:
- >:(
- >:@
- X (
- >8(
- :-||
Step 2. Create vertical angry smileys
They are considered "oriental" type faces and have become popular in Korea and Japan. There is much more variety than horizontal smileys, thanks to the use of special characters. Some characters will not be visible to everyone, especially those who use older devices. Some of these smileys have been nicknamed "Kirby" as they are reminiscent of the Kirby character from Nintendo games.

If you are feeling really angry, you can create an emoticon that represents a table turned upside down in anger. These emoticons are usually used to express the reaction to bad or unexpected news.
