Normally we usually set goals for the near future and we think of six months or a maximum of five years as the maximum time to set a life goal. In reality, life is much longer and if you want to achieve something great you have to set goals accordingly.
Steps
Step 1. Imagine what you will be like at 70-75 years old
Step 2. What should your achievement be?
What would make you happy at this age and allow you to die peacefully? Find the answer and think for a long time. This way you will understand what your life goal is.
Step 3. Now that you know what your purpose in life is, take it one step further and plan your life from now until that age
How do you want to achieve it? You have many years, even decades, to do it.
Step 4. You have thousands of days to work on your goal
Start today and think you will feel better knowing that you have completed 0.001% of your dream. That's what you have to do. The mysteries of life and uncertainties do not matter, by completing what you have set for yourself you will die in peace.
Step 5. You have to ignore the unimportant things and distractions of life because you know exactly what you want and what your life purpose is
Take a step to take it easy and be happy every single day of the journey.
Advice
- The idea sounds easy, but if you don't believe it first it will never work.
- Whatever age you are, setting life goals can be very difficult. Just do it, write how you want to become, what you want to achieve or even possess. Remember that every single breath right now has to be done for that goal and it makes no difference whether you are 16 or 60. Once a goal has been achieved, there will always be a new one. Don't waste too much time figuring out what you want, the answers are already within you.
- 40 years is a long time. If you miss a day you won't be late. You can always catch up the following day.
- The best part is, if you follow this strategy, you will be happy every day. Its effects are extraordinary and you will never falter. You will be like a rock.
- People between the ages of 24 and 30 are the best target for this strategy. In fact they already have an idea of their professional and personal career.
- People under the age of 21 may find this plan inadequate as they still don't know what they want from life. They have yet to find a stable direction and start working towards that goal. They also tend to still be immature for long-term thinking.
- You may not get your goal. It would be sad, wouldn't it? Actually no, the simple fact that you were happy until age 65 will have made sure you increase your productivity and you will still be accomplished.
