What you need to know to be a good college student, from a college student's point of view.
Steps
Step 1. Trust yourself
It is often how we relate to courses that decides our results. Enter class conscious of being able to learn everything.
Step 2. Take notes
As a university student, it's normal to have a thousand things on your mind, taking notes is a good way to make sure you remember the lesson and not other passing thoughts.
Step 3. Learn to organize yourself
Outline your goals, their importance, how long you plan to take to achieve them. This is how you will know when you have worked hard enough, and you can move on to the fun.
Step 4. Get involved
Statistics show that university students involved in activities including extracurricular are the most productive.
Step 5. Stop wasting time
Some students manage to work well the last few days before an exam, under pressure, but taking the time to solve a goal will give you more freedom and save you a lot of stress.
Step 6. Try to apply for internships
Applying what you learn in college to work will give you in-depth knowledge and prepare you for the much longer working phase of your life.
Step 7. Socialize
Develop relationships with your professors and peers. With the professors because they will be able to advise you on what you need to focus on and which weaknesses you need to work on. With your mates to help each other - you never know when it will be needed.
Step 8. STUDY
Set aside time to study and that's it, study at the time of day you prefer, study with a free mind, especially from distractions. You can take breaks of course, but stay in the "I'm studying" mentality. Being part of a study group helps.
Step 9. Know your limits
You may have to postpone exams or ask for help. If you need a tutor, don't be ashamed.
Step 10. Being a good college student is more than having good grades, it's having a good mindset
This is the most important advice I can give you. The harder you work, the more results you will get. Having a positive and constructive mindset will help you be a great student no matter what grades you get.
Advice
- Start a study group, develop friendships with intelligent people, surround yourself with positivity, plan your success - however you mean the word "success".
- If possible, avoid relations. They can be positive and constructive as well as overwhelming and distracting from studying. Again, be aware of your limitations, and try to keep in mind what your priorities are.
