Many men voluntarily choose not to wear the protective shell while playing sports. This is because the object in question is considered uncomfortable and is believed to limit movement. This guide will explain the difference between the two different types of shells that exist and will teach you how to wear them so that they are comfortable and not tight.
Steps
Step 1. Always put the shell inside the jockstrap, briefs or shorts specifically designed to contain it
The jockstrap (or slip or shorts) has a special pocket designed to accommodate the shell. In addition, it should be equipped with metal clips or a velcro closure that will hold the shell firmly and in place.
Step 2. The shell (inside the jockstrap, briefs or shorts) should be worn with nothing underneath (without underwear, so to speak)
This maximizes protection by closing the genitals inside the shell and keeping them in close contact with the body. Be that as it may, if you want to wear something under your jockstrap, opt for a pair of thin nylon / spandex underpants (like men's protective underwear shorts, for example).
Step 3. For the shell to work best, it must fit tightly to the body without moving
A non-adherent shell will cause the impact of the blow to crush it against the testicles, causing pain and causing possible injuries. If the jockstrap (or briefs or shorts) doesn't hold the shell firmly, you can wear a pair of tight-fitting nylon / spandex underpants over it.
Method 1 of 1: Place the Shell
Step 1. Put on the jockstrap so that the lower elastic bands adhere to the legs and the upper one surrounds the waist
The shell must remain on the front, above the genitals.
Step 2. Insert the testicles into the lower part of the shell (the narrow one)
Step 3. As for the triangular shaped shells, lift the penis and place it inside the shell
With the banana shaped shells, make the penis point downwards.
Step 4. The shell should completely cover the genitals
Step 5. When you are done using it, remove the shell and wash it
The jockstrap can be machine washed (but it should dry in the open air so as not to damage the elastic bands). The shell should be washed by hand with soap and water, never in the washing machine.
Advice
- A man should never feel embarrassed if, in the locker room, he wears the shell (even if no one else does). On the contrary, he should be proud of knowing how important it is to protect yourself while playing sports.
- The latest generation shells want to be the right compromise between the different types of shells on the market. They enclose the genitals, giving the penis the possibility of moving upwards while remaining in contact with the body, and are available in different sizes. When worn under a pair of tight nylon / spandex panties, they follow the profile of the male body and, in the locker room, do not give reason to feel uncomfortable, because they hide the fact that you are wearing them.
- In fact, there are two different types of protective shells. The first consists of the "traditional" shell made in the shape of a "V" and equipped, in some cases, with a cavity in the lower part that encloses the testicles. It is slightly flattened on the sides, so that it fits snugly against the body. Certain shells are constructed to follow the profile of the body and enclose the penis within them, supporting it and giving it the necessary protection. The second type of shell, "banana", is curved to follow the profile of the body and tapers at the top. It is built to enclose the male genitals by keeping them in their most natural position, i.e. hanging downwards.
- The "traditional" shell is ideal for men who prefer to keep the penis facing upwards, enclosed within the largest part of the "V" protection. Conversely, the "banana" shell is designed so that the penis hangs down, which is more comfortable for some men. All shells, be they "traditional" or "banana", must adhere perfectly to the body to be effective. In some cases, the suspenders, briefs or shorts purchased together with the shell do not keep the latter well adherent to the body. If the shell remains detached from the body, a blow received with force will inevitably crush it against the testicles causing pain and with the risk of causing injury (just as if the victim was not wearing any protection). For the protection to work properly, the energy of the blow must be transmitted from the shell to the rubber padding (or foam) in contact with the body and not directly to the penis or testicles. Tight-fitting nylon / spandex panties can be worn over the jockstrap to keep it firmly in place and in contact with the body.
- What is the most comfortable type of shell? This depends solely on the shape of the wearer's body and the quality of the protection. The shells, be they "traditional" or "banana", are not all the same. Some men find banana shells more comfortable, as not all traditional shells fit all body types. That said, it must be admitted that many traditional shells are extremely comfortable and guarantee excellent protection. Try to buy the most suitable protection for your body, otherwise the shell could remain suspended on the genitals, crushing them upon impact.
- There are various types of shells designed for different sports. Hockey goalies (ice or roller), boxers, soccer players and baseball players should wear shells specifically designed for the sports they play. Also, buying a cheap product is almost never the best choice! Have you ever seen a boxer fall to the mat for a low blow? If so, he wasn't wearing the right protection! The loosely adherent shells are of little use; even a boxing leather jockstrap can be perfectly useless if it is not close enough to the body!
Warnings
- You can get hurt even with the right protection, but if the shell happens to break, try to think about what would have happened if you hadn't worn it!
- For the umpteenth time, make sure that the shell encloses the genitals and adheres well to the body. Otherwise, the blow will crush it against the testicles causing pain and risking injury, just as if it had not been worn.
- Men should consider the idea of shaving the pubic hair on the scrotum and at the base of the penis before wearing the shell, so that it does not pull the hair in a painful way.
