You're about to go shopping with your friends, but you don't want to spend all your time in a dressing room! This article will help you determine your size, read on to find out more.
Steps
Step 1. To determine the size of your clothes, you will first need to measure yourself
Take a seamstress inch and take the following measurements.
- Bust - This is the thoracic (chest) area, measure it by wrapping the centimeter around your chest making sure you pass it over your breasts, not above and not below.
- Waist- The waist at the height of the stomach, to measure it place the centimeter just below the navel. Don't hold your breath, it won't help you choose the perfect dress.
- Hips - When measuring your hips, don't measure the fullest part of your body (next to your buttocks). The centimeter will need to touch the hip bone on both sides of your body.
Step 2. The sizes may differ depending on your country and the country of origin of the dress

Note: All measurements are in centimeters (cm)
Advice
-
Many stores don't use numbers for sizes, and replace them with letters (e.g. XS, S, M, etc). In American sizes, size 2 corresponds to XS, 4 to S, 6 to M, 8 to L, 10 to XL and 12 to XXL. Remember that although these are very good guidelines, each manufacturer may vary their sizes slightly.
These numbers may also vary from one brand to another. The advice is to always try on a dress before buying it. A 42 in one shop may not match a 42 in another
- If you are having difficulty with the centimeter, ask for support from a friend.
- To get the most accurate measurement possible, take a deep breath and exhale fully. NEVER measure yourself after taking a deep breath.
- While shopping, always identify the size reference label affixed to the dress. The sizes shown on the hangers are often wrong and different from the real ones.
