Removing eyeliner can be difficult. It tends to stick to the lashes and taking it off becomes complicated. If you struggle to remove it when you are in a hurry, just follow these steps to fix the problem.
Steps
Step 1. Moisten the end of a cotton swab with warm water
Do not soak the stick completely, make sure it is only moist.
Step 2. Wet the tip of the cotton swab with petroleum jelly
A little will be enough, no more than a drop.
Step 3. Swipe the tip of the cotton swab over the eyeliner very gently
Stop when the cotton gets dirty, and repeat the process with the clean part, until the eyeliner is almost completely eliminated. If you continue you would risk smudging the eyeliner on the eyelid, without removing the product well.
Step 4. Wash your face with a mild cleanser after you have almost completely removed the eyeliner
If you notice any spots on or under your lashes, swab them with a cotton swab.
Advice
- While petroleum jelly shouldn't burn your eyes, wash them if it goes away a little.
- When you're done, moisturize your eye area, as the petroleum jelly may leave you feeling dry.
- You can also use eye makeup remover instead of petroleum jelly.
- Dab the makeup remover with a cotton swab, then rinse to remove the eyeliner and wash your face with a mild cleanser.
- If you use a cloth to remove make-up, don't rub it on your face, dab it.
Warnings
- Do not wash your face before removing the eyeliner; it will spread all over your skin and you will end up wasting more time.
- If your hands start shaking, don't keep removing the eyeliner. You could poke out your eye.
