Hair becomes frizzy when it is dry, unhealthy or excessively exposed to the heat of straighteners and curling irons. For some people, the fight against frizz is a daily battle. The simplest solutions include: avoiding humid places, increasing hydration, and using a wide-toothed comb. Read on for some helpful tips to prevent hair from wrinkling after a shower.
Steps
Step 1. Apply olive oil to your hair before showering
Heat half a glass (100ml) of olive oil in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or until lukewarm. Repeat this once a week to prevent frizz.
Step 2. Make an egg and mayonnaise based conditioner
Mix one egg and half a glass (100ml) of mayonnaise. Massage the mixture into the lengths and scalp. Rinse after twenty minutes. Repeat this once a week.
Alternative recipe: mix half a glass (100ml) of vinegar and two glasses of mayonnaise (400ml) until smooth. Add 4 teaspoons of milk. Use this conditioner after shampooing or add water and spray it on the roots before drying. You will have soft, shiny and silky hair
Step 3. Get a beer treat
Choose one that doesn't smell too strong. Wash your hair with beer and then rinse with cold water. Repeat this every two weeks.
Step 4. Reduce the use of straighteners and curling irons after a shower
The heat damages and dries the hair, which will therefore always be frizzier than healthy hair.
Step 5. Apply natural oils to lengths after showering
Pour 2 to 3 drops of jojoba or coconut oil on your hand and rub between your fingers. Run your fingers through your hair for hydration.
Step 6. Use a wide toothed comb on wet hair
A fine-toothed one will stretch and pull your hair as you try to untie the knots and increase the chance of having it frizzy.
Step 7. Avoid very humid places after washing
- Open the bathroom door after a shower. The large amount of accumulated steam is not good for the hair. Start making it out as you prepare and dry them.
- Avoid the sauna. The humidity is very high and makes them very frizzy.
- Try not to do outdoor activities on very humid days. All frizz cures could be easily undone.
Step 8. Dry your hair in sections
Use a round or flat brush to style them.
Step 9. Rinse your hair with vinegar
Many medicines or an unhealthy diet damage the natural balance of the hair. Vinegar restores the natural pH and avoids frizz. (There is also a risk that vinegar can dry them further and damage the outermost layer, as it is a very acidic liquid)
Step 10. Eat healthy
A diet rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids, lecithin, vitamins B8 and B5 and proteins will help you have healthier and therefore less frizzy hair.
