A garden shed can be used to shelter tools and other items from bad weather. The roof and walls of the shed should be constructed of wood that is naturally water resistant. Usually the small huts are placed on a concrete base. Follow these steps to learn how to build one.
Steps

Step 1. Choose where to build the shed and take the measurements
It is good to choose flat terrain.

Step 2. Use 10x5cm concrete bricks to build the foundation
- Dig a ditch for the foundation, compacting the earth at the bottom. Add 5 to 7.5 cm of gravel.
- The gravel will drain the rain, preventing the water from digging under the shed. Start laying the bricks.
- Lay all the bricks needed to make the foundation. The number varies according to the desired size.
- Level the surface.

Step 3. Buy 5 x 10 cm wooden joists
The number and length of the pieces needed will vary depending on the size of the shed.

Step 4. Build three identical frames using joists
Each must have a sloping top and a center joist. Assemble the pieces with 7cm wood screws.

Step 5. Put the three frames together
Stand them up next to each other, with even spacing.

Step 6. Join them by attaching more 5x10 joists along the top and bottom ends

Step 7. Use smaller joists (2,5x5cm) to build the door frame
The door should be positioned on the lower side of the shed.

Step 8. Screw a 5x15cm beam to the front of the shed

Step 9. Cut plywood sheets to size to make the shed floor

Step 10. Cut the plywood where needed to fit the frame
Screw the floor to the structure.

Step 11. Place partitions on two of the three frame frames
They will serve to support the shelves for tools.

Step 12. Measure and cut the shelves using the leftover plywood
Secure them to the structure with screws.

Step 13. Get enough wooden planks to cover the outside of the shed
You can also use prefabricated interlocking siding to make the job easier.

Step 14. Nail the trim boards
Use glue to improve fixation if necessary.

Step 15. Cut out any leftover boards with a circular saw

Step 16. Build the roof
You can build the roof of the shed with the same boards used to cover the walls. Leave an overhang on the sides of the roof.

Step 17. Cut the boards needed to build the door to size

Step 18. Assemble the door by screwing a few wooden boards crosswise

Step 19. Build another frame with 2.5x7.5cm boards
Fix it on the door to reinforce it further. Use sturdy hinges to secure the door to the shed.
Advice
- The concrete blocks for the floor are available at a construction warehouse.
- The measurements given for the wooden boards refer to their section. Length may vary.
- Use pressed wood for the shed. Fir can be fine.
- The floor can also be built with wooden pallets. The foundations must comply with local building codes and must be designed based on the size of the shed and the climate in your area.
- To simplify the work you can buy a kit in a kit.
