Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA V) offers fans an online open world gaming experience, where they can complete missions alongside other players or challenge them. Read on to get the most out of the game and become a true pro.
Steps
Part 1 of 5: Creating a Character
Step 1. Create a character
In GTA V the process is different from what you are used to. You don't just have to customize your height, skin color, and appearance, it's a three-part operation: Origin, Lifestyle, and Appearance.
Step 2. Choose your ancestors
GTA V allows you to decide four grandparents, which affect the character's appearance. This system tries to simulate the natural method by which our genes determine our appearance. You also have the option to adjust the degree of similarity with your parents.
Step 3. Choose your lifestyle
You will be asked to allocate points to your character's different abilities in the game (such as stamina, strength and ability to shoot). The operation also has a slight impact on your physical appearance. For example, if you put a lot of points in "Sitting on the sofa" the character will be overweight.
Step 4. Change your appearance
Choose age, hair type, hair color, and other character details. Make sure it's unique, because it will represent you in the online gaming world. When you are satisfied with the appearance, click "Save and continue".
Step 5. Name your character
Once you've chosen it, you'll be ready to dive into the world of GTA V online!
Part 2 of 5: Start Playing
Step 1. Complete the tutorial missions
Your adventure begins with disembarking at Los Santos airport. Lamar (from the game's story mode) will come and get you and the tutorial mission will begin. Lamar will immediately introduce you to some of the missions that you can play online.
Step 2. Be nice to others, or not
Remember that these introductory missions are real multiplayer sessions, with real players. The lengthy tutorial gives you a taste of what awaits you.
Step 3. Collect the rewards
Since the introductory missions are true multiplayer games, you will receive Reputation Points (PR) and money after completing them. PRs are very important because they determine your rank. Money allows you to buy weapons, vehicles and all other items.
Step 4. Explore the map and get familiar with it
Right after the introductory mission, you are free to move around the world of Los Santos and Blaine County. Check the map to discover the various regions. The mini-map will also make your life much easier, because it has icons that correspond to the various points of interest.
Step 5. Guide
Drive around the city and start learning the fastest routes to reach the places that interest you, as well as the small details of your neighborhood. This will help you move faster and not always have to check the map.
Part 3 of 5: Level up
Step 1. Start increasing your rank
You can accumulate PR and money by participating in online matches and accepting missions. PR determines your online rank within the game, so if you want to level up in a short amount of time, you'll want to accumulate them. You can check the location of matches and missions on the map.
Step 2. Choose the game mode
There are many different multiplayer games, such as Deathmatch, Racing, Free Mode and many others that you can complete to receive rewards. In some cases you will team up with another user, but in most cases these are free-for-all games, especially car racing. Make sure you have the right equipment before joining an online session.
Step 3. Get some reinforcements
Contact Lester and Martin for missions that require teamwork, such as robberies. To complete them effectively, you should invite other players to join your crew. Group missions reward you with 20% more reputation than solo missions.
Step 4. Watch out for the police
Avoid getting wanted during missions, otherwise your task will be more difficult. To score points without too much effort, make sure your wanted level is low or, even better, zero. If the cops are on your trail, don't get caught or you'll face penalties.
Step 5. Get a proper car
Don't forget to upgrade your weapons and vehicles. Having reliable weapons and fast means of transportation to escape is very useful if you want to accumulate PR quickly. However, spend your money wisely. Don't waste them all on clothes or other cosmetic items.
Step 6. Find other sources of PR
You can earn points simply by challenging other players to a tennis, golf or other activity match. The points will accumulate quickly and you will have a lot of fun!
Part 4 of 5: Playing your best
Step 1. Play wisely
After completing many missions, the competition will get tougher. Some players may put a bounty on your head or simply decide to kill you to steal your money or luxury car. You can avoid these problems if you play smart.
Step 2. Deposit the money
You can use your mobile (within the game) to deposit your hard-earned money into a secure bank account. This prevents those who kill or rob you from stealing from you. Keep only the money you need in your wallet and you won't have any problems.
Step 3. Play with friends
Having lots of friends online is the best way to keep the bad guys out. Players who think about killing you will think twice if they find that you have a whole crew ready to take revenge.
Step 4. Keep your vehicles safe
You can park them in garages, so that other players can't steal or destroy them.
Step 5. Upgrade your character
Don't forget to improve your skills as you rise in rank. Some abilities are only unlocked after a certain level. Having better skills not only allows you to survive longer in the online world, it also helps you recruit members for your crew.
Step 6. Make more money
It is important to have a steady flow of money available, otherwise you will not be able to progress in the game. The quickest way to earn is to complete quick missions. If, on the other hand, you want to get more money from a single assignment, you can devote yourself to robberies and the business of bounty hunter.
You can also purchase the game's virtual currency directly from the PlayStation Network or Xbox Game Store
Part 5 of 5: Have fun
Step 1. Join the Rockstar Social Club
All your online statistics are published on this platform. Make sure you check your character's progress and your ranking in GTA V Online.
Step 2. Check how your friends are doing
In addition to your stats, you can also view those of your friends, crew members, and any other player.
Step 3. Find out about the latest news and events online
Warnings
- If you have a bounty on your head, consider that many players will try to kill you to cash it out.
- Using cheats and mods can lead to suspension of your account.
- Don't annoy other players by yelling into the microphone, cursing, etc.
- Destroying the cars and motorbikes of other players is not considered the right thing to do and can make you get the ire of everyone.
