When you connect an e-mail account to Outlook, you must enter its e-mail address and password so that the program can retrieve the messages in the inbox. By changing the password for accessing your e-mail, you will have to change the password within Outlook as well, so that it can continue to access your account. If you wish, you can also protect access to your Outlook files with a password that can only be changed if you know the original. Method 3 of 3: Outlook.com
Step 1. Go to the webpage for resetting your Microsoft account password
Your "@ outlook.com" (or "@ hotmail.com" or "@ live.com") domain email address is linked to your Microsoft account. If, on the other hand, you have associated a mobile number, you can have an SMS sent to you. If you have the Microsoft Account app installed on your mobile device, you can use it to generate a verification code.
If you don't have access to any of these verification methods, choose the "I don't have any of this info" option. You will be asked to fill out a small questionnaire to verify your identity
Step 5. Enter the verification code you received
You will be redirected to the web page which will allow you to change your login password.
Step 6. Enter the new password
You will be asked to enter it twice to check it is correct and to proceed further. The new password will be active immediately after setting it. All devices connected to your Microsoft account with the old password will be disconnected, so you will need to log in using the new login credentials.
