This article explains how to change the language used to display Microsoft Word menus and user interface. If you are using a Windows computer, this is very easy to do. If you are using an iOS or Android mobile device or a Mac, it is not possible to configure a language of Word other than the default of the operating system. However, in the latter case you can set a different language to make the changes.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Android and iOS devices
Step 1. Launch the Word app
It features an icon depicting two stylized sheets and the letter "W". You can find it on the Home, in the "Applications" panel or by performing a search.
Step 2. Tap the pencil icon and the letter "A" located at the top of the screen
The "Edit" menu will appear.
Step 3. Tap the Home item
A list of options will be displayed.
Step 4. Select the Review item
The menu options displayed on the right of the page will change.
Step 5. Select the Correction Tools item
The menu options will change again based on your choice.
Step 6. Tap the icon with an arrow pointing to the right
located next to the currently selected language.
A list of all available languages will be displayed.
Step 7. Tap the language you want to use to review the document
You will be redirected to the previous menu.
If you want the original text of the document to remain unchanged, select the checkboxes "Hide all correction marks" and "Hide correction marks in selected text"
Method 2 of 3: Windows computer
Step 1. Open a document using Word
You can open a project you are working on or you can create a new document from scratch. All the configuration settings you are going to modify will be active every time you use the program. For example, if you set French as your language for this new document, when you use Word again, the language set will remain French.
Step 2. Click on the File menu
It is located in the upper left of the program window.
Step 3. Click on the Options item
A new window will appear.
Step 4. Click on the Language tab
It is listed in the left panel of the "Word Options" window. The "Setting the language preferences for Office" section will appear in the right pane of the window.
Step 5. Choose a language to make changes to your documents
Remember that changing this parameter will also change the language of all related Word features, such as dictionaries, grammar checking and sorting.
For example, if you have set up Spanish as your editing language, typing the word "home" instead of "case" Word will not report any errors
Step 6. Click the Set as Default button to confirm
Step 7. Choose the language for the Word user interface and help
The language you choose will be used to display the program's menus and dialogs.
Step 8. Click the OK button
The "Word Options" window will close and the new settings will already be active.
Method 3 of 3: Mac

You can open a project you are working on or you can create a new document from scratch. All the configuration settings you are going to modify will be active every time you use the program. For example, if you set French as your language for this new document, when you use Word again, the language set will remain French.
If you want to change the language in which Word menus, user interface and help are displayed, you will need to change the default language of the operating system. In this case, access the "Apple" menu, choose "System Preferences" and click on the "Language and Area" icon
