This article explains how to install the BlueStacks program - a free emulator of the Android operating system available for PC and Mac.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Windows
Step 1. Visit BlueStacks Official Website using your computer browser
The website will automatically detect the operating system installed on your computer and show the "Download BlueStacks" button in the center of the main page.
Step 2. Click the Download BlueStacks button
This way the program installation file will be downloaded to your computer.
Depending on your browser settings, you may need to click on the button Save or Download to start the download.
Step 3. Double click on the BlueStacks installation file
Once the download is complete, click on the file BlueStacks-Installer (version_number).exe displayed in the lower left corner of the browser window. Alternatively, access the folder Download and double click on the installation file indicated.
Step 4. Click the Yes button to allow the installation file to run
Step 5. Click the Install Now button
BlueStacks will be installed on your computer. Once the installation is complete, a new window will appear.
If you are upgrading to a new version of the program, click the button Continues, then click the option Update.
Step 6. Click the Complete button when the installation is complete
The BlueStacks program will start automatically. Alternatively, you can run it manually by clicking on the program name or the corresponding icon in the "Start" menu.
Method 2 of 2: Mac
Step 1. Visit BlueStacks Official Website using your computer browser
The website will automatically detect the operating system installed on your computer and show the "Download BlueStacks" button in the center of the main page.
Step 2. Click the Download BlueStacks button
This way the program installation file will be downloaded to your computer.
Depending on your browser settings, you may need to click on the button Save or Download to start the download.
Step 3. Double click on the BlueStacks installation file
At the end of the download click on the file BlueStacksInstaller (version_number).dmg stored in the folder Download.
Step 4. Double-click the BlueStacks program icon in the window that appeared
It features a series of colored squares stacked on top of each other displayed in the center of the window.
Step 5. Click the Install button
It is blue in color and is visible in the center of the window.
Step 6. Click the Continue button to accept the terms and conditions of the licensed product use agreement
If you need to consult the terms and conditions of the agreement, click on the appropriate link displayed in the lower right corner of the installation window.
Step 7. Authorize the installation of BlueStacks if necessary
If the warning message "System extension blocked" appears, you will need to perform some additional steps to be able to complete the installation of the program:
- Click on the button Open Security preferences visible in the pop-up window that appeared;
- Click on the tab General in case it is not already selected;
- Click on the button Allow located in the lower right corner of the window.
Step 8. Launch BlueStacks
At the end of the installation you can run the program by clicking on the icon (characterized by a series of colored squares stacked on top of each other) in the folder Applications.
