Changing your Windows 8 password can help protect your personal data and improve your computer's overall security. The password of a Windows 8 user profile can be changed from the "Accounts" menu of the Settings app.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Change the Windows 8 Password
Step 1. Open the Windows 8 charms bar by sliding your finger across the screen to the left starting from the right side, then select the "Settings" option
If you are using a device with a mouse, place the pointer in the lower right corner of the screen, then click on the "Settings" option
Step 2. Click on "Change PC Settings", then select the "Accounts" tab
Step 3. Select the "Login Options" tab, then click the "Change" button in the "Password" section
The window will appear that will allow you to change the Windows password.
Step 4. Type the current security password into the "Previous Password" text field
Step 5. At this point, enter the new password in the two text fields on the screen and click on the "Next" button
Step 6. Click on the "Finish" button when the message that the password has been changed successfully will be displayed
At this point you can log in to Windows 8 using the new password you set.
Method 2 of 2: Change the Windows 8 Password Within a Network Domain
Step 1. Press the key combination "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Del", then select the "Change password" item
If you are using a tablet with Windows 8, press and hold the "Windows" key, then press the power key and choose the "Change password" option from the menu that appears
Step 2. Type your account's current login password in the "Previous Password" text field
Step 3. Now enter the new password in the two text fields displayed on the screen and click on the "Next" button
Step 4. Click on the "Finish" button when the message that the password has been changed successfully will be displayed
At this point you can log in to Windows 8 using the new password you set.
