To share slideshows, digital resumes and other Powerpoint presentations with your Facebook contacts, the file must be converted from.ptt file to video file. Steps
Method 1 of 2: Windows
Step 1. Open the Power Point presentation you want to upload to Facebook
Step 2. Save the PowerPoint presentation as a Windows Media Video file
- Click the File tab in the standard toolbar and select Save As.
- Enter the name of the PowerPoint file and, in the File Type menu, select Windows Media video. Depending on the duration of the presentation, the transition effects used and the processor, the conversion may take several minutes.
Step 3. Make sure that the size and length of the video do not exceed the limits imposed by Facebook
- Right click on the file and select "Properties" from the menu that appears.
- Click on the "General" tab in the "Properties" window to view the file size in megabytes. Make sure the file size does not exceed 1,024Mb.
Step 4. Make sure the video is not too long
- Open the video file containing your presentation in any video player program.
- Click the File tab on the menu bar and select the Properties. Click on the Details tab to see the exact length of the video, and make sure you don't exceed the 20 minute limit.
Step 5. Configure your browser to allow Facebook pop-ups to open
- On Internet Explorer, click the "Tools" icon at the top right of the browser window, next to the "Home" and "Favorites" icons. Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu. Click on the Privacy tab in the "Internet Options" dialog box and click on the Settings button in the Pop-up Blocker menu. In "Permitted website address" enter press Enter and click the "Close" button. At this point, Internet Explorer will allow the display of Facebook pop-ups.
- On Firefox, click on the Tools tab in the menu bar and select Options from the drop-down menu. Click on the "Contents" option and then click "Exceptions". Enter in the Website address field and click OK. Firefox will now stop blocking Facebook popups.
- On Google Chrome, click on the wrench image at the top right of the browser window to access the options. Click on "Under the Hood" in the left panel. Click on the "Current settings" button at the top of the page and click on the "manage extensions" button in the menu that appears. Type "Facebook" in the Path field and press Enter. An exception will be created that will allow Facebook pop-ups to be displayed on Google Chrome.
Step 6. Log into Facebook with your username and password
Step 7. Click on "Video Options" in the "Sharing" menu and select the "Upload a video from your hard drive" option to begin the upload process
The video upload window will open.
Step 8. Find the path of the PowerPoint video and double click on the file to upload it to Facebook
- The Terms and Conditions window will open. Read the terms and agree to the "Agree" button before starting the upload process.
- Depending on the size of the video and the speed of your internet connection, the upload process may take several minutes. After that, your presentation will finally be available to your Facebook contacts.
Method 2 of 2: Mac OS X
Step 1. Open PowerPoint on your Mac and select the video
Step 2. Choose "Create Movie" from the file menu
Step 3. Name the file and save it on your computer
