If you need to make a quick presentation using PowerPoint and don't want to show a particular slide, hiding it is a procedure that will come in handy if you don't want to delete it. PowerPoint allows you to easily hide as many slides as you want within a presentation.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Hide the Slide
Step 1. Open the presentation in PowerPoint
Since you want to hide a slide, it is assumed that you have already created the presentation in PowerPoint. Search for the file on your computer and open it.
Step 2. Select the right slide
On the left side of the screen, you should see the list of all the slides that are within the presentation. Click on the one you want to hide.
If a slide was selected correctly, a box will appear around it
Step 3. Click on "Presentation"
From the tabs at the top of the PowerPoint window, select "Presentation". This tab allows you to check every single detail regarding the presentation of the presentation.
Step 4. Click on "Hide slide"
Among the options found within the "Presentation" tab, look for the "Hide slide" button and click on it. These options are located at the top of the PowerPoint window.
- If you have successfully hidden the slide, a bar will appear on the number associated with it.
- Repeat this process to hide additional slides.
Step 5. Show the slide
If you wish to make it appear again, all you have to do is repeat this procedure.
Method 2 of 2: Go to a Hidden Slide
Step 1. Create a link to access the hidden slide
You may want to create a link so that you can access the hidden slide even in presentation mode. In fact, it can be embarrassing to open file changes in the middle of a conference.
Step 2. Click on "Insert"
Click on the "Insert" tab at the top of the window. This tab allows you to control all the elements that you can on a slide, including images, videos and so on.
Step 3. Select a word or piece of text
Select a word or phrase you want to link from. You will need to click on this text to access the hidden slide during the presentation, so choose a location that makes sense from a logical point of view. At the end of the presentation you could add, for example, something like "Learn more" and create the link from it.
Step 4. Click on "Hyperlink"
Click on the "Hyperlink" button, which is one of the options within the "Insert" tab.
- Click on "Insert into document" from the options that appear on the left side of the pop-up.
- Select the hidden slide and click "Ok" at the bottom right.
