YouTube allows users to search and view millions of videos, leave comments, rate and save your favorite videos to watch and share later. Here's how to create a YouTube account.
Steps
Step 1. To get started, go to the YouTube website
Before creating an account you need to know a few things:
- When you create a YouTube account, you also create a Gmail account. This will be [YouTube username] @ gmail.com.
- When you create a YouTube account, you also created a Google+ account. Google+ is the Google social network, similar to Facebook. You will be able to change your settings in the Google+ section at the top of your browser when you log into YouTube or Gmail with your account. If you don't want a Google+ account, you can also cancel it while keeping the YouTube account.
- What you do on YouTube is separate from what you do on Google+ or other Google sites. If you do something on YouTube, for example, that thing won't be visible on Google+.
Step 2. Click on the "Login" button in the upper right corner of the home page
Step 3. Click the "Create an Account" button in the upper right corner of the page
If you already have a Gmail account, you should also have a YouTube account. Use your Gmail username and password to log into YouTube
Step 4. Enter the required information
Enter your email address, username, date of birth, gender and click "Accept".
Step 5. If asked, provide a verification number to prove you are not a machine
To prevent fake accounts, Google sometimes asks for verification.
Step 6. Enter the verification code if necessary
Step 7. Beautify your YouTube page
On the profile page, among other things you can add a main photo and choose a personal background. Try to express yourself.
Step 8. Start taking advantage of your account
Once you are signed up and have a YouTube account, you can:
- Create and add videos in the YouTube community.
- Follow your favorite users by subscribing to their channel.
- Manage your favorite videos and episodes.
- Comment on videos and socialize with other community members.
Advice
- Don't be upset if you get an insulting comment, because every positive comment will be worth a lot more. People leave unpleasant comments just because they are unsure of themselves.
- It takes time to get views and followers. It doesn't happen 15 minutes after you upload your first video.
Warnings
- Be careful - there are a lot of bad people on YouTube, so depending on your age, ask your parents for advice before signing up.
- It is important that you read the Community Guidelines and Terms of Use carefully before creating an account on YouTube.
- You must be at least 13 years old to join YouTube, so if you don't have them, you can't create an account.
