VK is a Russian social network with over 400 million registered users. According to Alexa rankings, VK.com is one of the most visited websites in Russia and other Eurasian countries, although it can be accessed from almost every corner of the globe. This article explains how to create an account on VK using a computer, phone or tablet.
Steps
Step 1. Visit https://vk.com with your preferred browser
You can use any browser you have installed on your computer, phone or tablet. This will open the VK welcome page.
Step 2. Fill out the registration form
There are two methods of creating an account. You can use your name and phone number or use your Facebook account. In any case, you will need to fill out the form found in the section titled "New to VK?". You will then have to click on Continue the registration to use your name or on Register via Facebook to use this social network.
If you use Facebook, follow the onscreen instructions to log into your account when prompted
Step 3. Enter your phone number
It is required to verify the account. Select the international prefix from the "Country" section, type your phone number (without the international prefix) in the box and then click on Get the activation code to receive the verification code via text message.
- Both registration methods require a valid phone number for verification purposes. This step cannot be bypassed. In any case, if you don't have a phone number, read this article.
- Your number will not be made public on VK.
Step 4. Enter the verification code and click Submit Code
It may take a few minutes to receive the code via SMS. Once the number has been verified, you will be asked to create a password (or log in with Facebook).
Step 5. Create a password
If you have signed up with Facebook, you will be prompted to confirm your login to finish creating your account. If you signed up using only your name and phone number, follow the onscreen instructions to create and confirm your new password.
Step 6. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish setting up your account
Once you have created a password, you can access VK wherever you want.
- If you use Facebook, you will be prompted to import your personal data to complete the process.
- If you log in to VK with a phone or tablet, download the official application from the App Store (iPhone / iPad) or from the Play Store (Android).
