Portable devices are increasingly relating to computers nowadays. It can be incredibly simple to move one or hundreds of files from your Android device to your computer to keep them safe. In Google Chrome, you can organize your bookmarks and move them between different computers and devices.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Click the Star
The first method is probably the easiest to save on the fly, as you just have to click an icon; however, if you forget the address, you cannot save using this method.
Step 1. Click on the star icon
This is to the right of the address bar, where the web address is.
Step 2. Save your bookmark
A dialog will appear allowing you to choose where to save your bookmark. Select the location where you want it to be stored from the drop-down menu.
Step 3. Edit the "Name" you want to assign to your bookmark
This is how it will appear in the favorites list, or on the favorites bar (remove all text if you only want the favicon to show).
Step 4. Click "Finish" and your bookmark will be saved
Method 2 of 4: Right Click on the Favorites Bar
This is an easy way to add a Google Chrome bookmark to the bookmarks bar by simply right-clicking on it.
Step 1. Open the bookmarks bar
If your favorites bar is not open, press [CTRL] and [B] simultaneously on your computer keyboard. If it is visible (it will be under the URL field, and it will show the bookmark favicons), go to step 2.
Step 2. Right click and select “Add Page
..”from the menu.
Step 3. Edit the bookmark name
Change the "Name" of the bookmark as you like, within the dialog box that will appear.
Step 4. Save
Once you have set the bookmark and its location, click "Save."
Method 3 of 4: Drag-and-drop
The fundamental point of the graphical interface is logical usability. What could make more sense than grabbing and dragging the bookmark to where you want to save it? Google Chrome makes it simple.
Step 1. Click and hold the favicon on the far left of the URL you want to add to your favorites
Step 2. Drag it to the place in the bookmark bar where you want to save it
If you want to place the bookmark in a folder, place it on the folder and wait for it to expand.
Step 3. Release the link when it is in the desired location
Method 4 of 4: Import them from a Different Browser
If you are just getting started with Google Chrome, you may need to import bookmarks that you have already saved in other browsers. Google has incorporated this process into Chrome.
Step 1. Click on the "Customize and Control Google Chrome" icon
Depending on the theme, it might look different, but with the standard Chrome theme, it's a wrench icon. It will say "Customize and Control Google Chrome" when you position yourself over it.
Step 2. Navigate to "Favorites" on the drop-down menu
Another menu will appear; click "Import Bookmarks" on that menu.
Step 3. Select Browser
In the dialog that appears, select which browser you want to import your bookmarks from. You can import any of the following from another browser:
- History of explorations
- Favorites / Bookmarks
- Passwords Saved
- Search engine
Step 4. Import
Once you've selected what you want to import and where from, click "Import." You will see a message when the operation is finished.
