This wikiHow teaches you how to upload pictures and videos to your "Google Photos" account using an iPhone or iPad. You can manually upload them to the application, but you can also activate the "Backup and Sync" feature to automatically backup all the photos and videos you have on your device.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Manually Upload Photos and Videos
Step 1. Open "Google Photos"
The app icon looks like a colored pinwheel.
If you don't have "Google Photos", you can download it from the App Store and sign in with your Google account
Step 2. Tap a photo
Review the "Photos" tab to find a movie or image you want to upload and then tap the file to select it. This will open a window showing the preview of the photo or video. To select multiple items, press and hold the first file and then tap the others you want to upload.

Photos or videos that have not already been uploaded have the crossed out cloud symbol in the lower right corner
Step 3. Tap ⋯ at the top right
This will open a pop-up menu at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Tap Backup at the top of the pop-up menu
The selected photo or video will be uploaded to your "Google Photos" account.
Method 2 of 2: Enable "Backup and Sync"
Step 1. Open "Google Photos"
The icon looks like a colored pinwheel.
If you don't have "Google Photos", you can download it from the App Store and sign in with your Google account
Step 2. Tap ☰ at the top left
A scrolling menu will open from the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Tap
The gear icon is located at the top right of the scroll menu, next to "Google Photos".
Step 4. Tap Backup & Sync at the top of the "Settings" page
Step 5. Tap the "Backup & Sync" button to activate it
Once activated it will turn blue. This will enable the automatic upload of the images and videos made with the device to your "Google Photos" account.
