This article explains how to change the physical appearance of an avatar on Bitmoji. To do this, you must first have installed the application on your iPhone or Android device. It is not possible to change the gender of a character.
Steps
Step 1. Open Bitmoji by tapping the application icon, which features a white smiley face on a green background
If you are already logged in, you will see the main page.
- If you are not logged in, tap the option you prefer to log in (Snapchat for example), then enter the required information to log in.
- If you've created a Bitmoji avatar using Snapchat, you can open the latter application instead and tap the profile icon in the top left. At this point, touch the avatar box or smiley face in the center of the screen, then "Edit Bitmoji" to open the section dedicated to your account. If you use this method, skip the next step.
Step 2. Tap the "Edit" button
It depicts a human silhouette flanked by a pencil and is located at the top right. The "Hairstyle" section will open.
Step 3. Select a feature you want to change
Tap the arrow on the left
or right
to see the various traits of the avatar. You can change the following:
- Face shape;
- Complexion;
- Hair color;
- Combing;
- Eyebrows;
- Eyebrow color;
- Eye color;
- Nose;
- Mouth;
- Beard;
- Beard color;
- Expression lines;
- Cheek dimples;
- Forehead wrinkles;
- Eyeglasses;
- Headdresses;
- Body size.
Step 4. Scroll down and tap an icon that best represents the feature you want to use
For example, you can choose a new eye color for the avatar
Step 5. Edit the other strokes
Repeat this process for each feature you want to change until you get a satisfactory result.
Step 6. Tap ✓ at the top right to save your changes and return to the main page
Step 7. Open the apparel menu by tapping the button that looks like a shirt in the top right
You will see a list of the outfits available for your Bitmoji.
Step 8. Change the Bitmoji outfit
Scroll down until you find the one you like the most, tap it and then tap ✓ in the top right. The changes will be saved.
