Steps
Method 1 of 2: Enable your Verizon Wireless Voicemail
Step 1. Type * 86 and hit enter from your Verizon Wireless device
If you want to activate your voicemail without your Verizon Wireless phone, just dial your phone number and your voicemail will answer
Step 2. Press the # key to proceed if you hear a welcome message
Step 3. Follow the instructions to create your password, custom welcome message or to change voicemail options
The functionalities of the answering machine are: 20 messages, 3 minutes of duration for each message and a period of 21 days in which all voice messages are recorded
Method 2 of 2: Activate the Visual Voice Mail
Step 1. Download the program to your phone by pressing the message icon and then choosing the visual voicemail link
Step 2. Select the visual voicemail application on your phone
- After selecting the Visual Voice Mail program, a screen will display additional information related to the feature.
- A new screen will appear and ask if you want to download the application and subscribe to the service.
Step 3. Launch the Visual Voice Mail application after downloading
Step 4. Enter your personal identification number
This feature requires the answering machine PIN to log in
Step 5. Press "Yes" to activate this feature if you wish to do so
Information about the service and subscription will appear on your display
Step 6. Press the "Sign Up" button
Step 7. Read the terms and conditions, and select "I agree" when asked to agree if you intend to
Step 8. Wait 5 minutes before restarting the Visual Voice Mail function
Your Voice Mail inbox will display the messages on the mobile phone screen; an icon will appear when each new voice message arrives. Messages in the inbox will contain: the caller's contact number or name, the day, date and time the message was left, the duration of the message, and whether the message is about to be deleted
Warnings
- The Visual Voice Mail application is free; however, unless your rate plan provides for unlimited minutes or data traffic, you will need to pay a fee for downloading, updating the application or when certain application functions are activated.
- Once the PIN has been entered in Visual Voice Mail, it will be saved by the application; you will only be prompted to enter your PIN when you change your password. As a result, anyone who uses your mobile will have the ability to access your saved voice messages.
