This article explains how to disable a VPN connection on an Android phone or tablet.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the VPN Application
Step 1. Open the VPN application
If you use a certain app to connect to the VPN, tap the icon in the app drawer to open it.
Step 2. Tap Disconnect
This option can also be indicated by an "X": it depends on the application you use. A confirmation pop-up window will appear.
Step 3. Tap Disconnect to confirm
The exact word may vary, but in general you will need to confirm this before disconnecting the device from the server.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Android Settings
Step 1. Open the Android "Settings"
They are usually found in the app drawer. You can also find them in the top right corner of the notification bar.
Step 2. Tap Wireless & Networks
On some versions of Android you have to tap instead ⋯ Other in the "Wireless and networks" section.
Step 3. Tap VPN
Step 4. Tap the settings icon next to the VPN
It might depict three dots or a gear, depending on your Android model.
Step 5. Swipe the VPN button to disable it
This will disconnect the device from the VPN.
