Dropbox is an application used to synchronize and share files with computers and other devices. You can access your documents anywhere and anytime. The app allows you to share files with other people, save them on a device and even upload them from it.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the Dropbox App
Step 1. Open Dropbox
Tap the icon (an open box) on the home screen or app drawer to open it.
If you don't have it yet, you can download it from Google Play
Step 2. Log in
On the home screen, tap "I'm already a Dropbox user" to log in. Enter your email address and password, then tap "Sign In" to continue.
Step 3. Search for the file you want to download
You will be shown all the files and folders you have on Dropbox. Look through the various folders until you find the file you want to download.
Step 4. Once the file is found, tap the down arrow on the right to download it
A minus pop up will open. Tap "More", then "Extract" and finally "Save to device".
Select the folder on the Android device's SD card where you want to save the file. Once you have chosen a destination folder, tap "Export" to download the file
Step 5. Wait for the export to complete
After tapping "Export", you will be able to see the download progress on the screen. The times depend on the size of the file.
Remember that this method only allows you to download one file at a time
Method 2 of 2: Using the Folder Downloader for Dropbox
Step 1. Open the Folder Downloader
Find the app on the home screen or in the app drawer. The icon is represented by a blue folder containing a curved down arrow. Tap it to open it.
- Make sure you've already installed Dropbox on your Android device.
- If you don't have the Folder Downloader for Dropbox, you can download it from Google Play. It will allow you to download entire folders from the application.
Step 2. Validate your account
Once you open the app, you will be asked for permission to authenticate your Dropbox account. Tap "Validate" to do it.
Step 3. Allow Dropbox access
On the next screen, Folder Downloader will ask you for permission to access Dropbox. Tap the green button to continue.
Step 4. Locate the folder to download
Once logged in, you will be directed to the main Folder Downloader screen, which will show you all the folders you have in your Dropbox account. Scroll through the list to find the one you want to download.
You can open a folder by tapping it, so you can access the other folders it contains
Step 5. Download the folder
Tap and hold the name of the folder you want to download, then tap "Download folder to" from the menu that appears. To download all the folders in your Dropbox account at once, tap "Download all to", located at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the location on the SD card where you want to download the folder, then tap "Ok".
- A new screen will appear with the following question: "Do you want to start the download?". Tap "Yes" to download the folder or folders.
Step 6. Wait for the download to finish
You will see the progress in a window that will appear after you tap "Yes".
