Getting ready for school can sometimes be a real struggle because you don't have enough time in the morning or you don't get enough rest. By organizing and adopting simple habits, getting ready will be a breeze.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Getting Ready the Night Before
Step 1. Choose your clothes
Preparing your clothes the night before will save you a lot of time in the morning. Choose clothing that allows you to stay comfortable all day. If it's cold outside, remember to dress in layers, so you can add a jacket or sweater if needed.
- If you're using a uniform, you can still prepare it to keep it handy and make sure it's clean.
- Make sure you dress according to the school regulations.
- Lay your clothes on a chair or dresser to keep them close at hand.
Step 2. Take a shower
To have good personal hygiene habits, it is important to wash every day. Taking a shower in the evening will remove all traces of dirt or sweat that have accumulated during the day. When you wake up you will feel clean and charged, not to mention that you will not have to waste time washing.
- If you need to style your hair, do it in the evening. Some people wear curlers or pull their hair up with a cap before going to sleep.
- Also, brush your teeth and take care of all other aspects related to personal hygiene.
Step 3. Prepare the backpack
Make sure you have stored all the books and notebooks you need. You certainly do not want to arrive at school and realize that you have left your parents' authorization or the essay you have to submit at home. Examine the contents of the backpack and the diary to make sure you have everything you need.
You can ask your parents to double check the backpack for further reassurance. They could help you refresh your memory if you have forgotten something
Step 4. Set your alarm to the time you want to get up
Calculate how long you will need to prepare and add another 10-15 minutes. This way you will be sure that you have plenty of time and that you can prepare yourself without feeling pressured.
- If you are used to "snooze", you may want to set the alarm earlier so that you can postpone it.
- Before going to sleep, make sure your alarm goes off!
Part 2 of 3: Getting Ready for the Morning
Step 1. Get up
Easier said that done. Try to get out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off. This will make it easier for the mind and body to wake up, avoiding falling asleep again.
To have greater mental clarity, it is better to get up as soon as the alarm goes off. Postponing it is counterproductive
Step 2. Prepare breakfast to wake up and recharge your batteries for the day ahead
To feel full until lunchtime, eat foods rich in protein and complex carbohydrates.
- The most suitable sources of protein in the morning are eggs, cured meats, yogurt, cow's milk, soy or almonds.
- Eat wholemeal toast, oatmeal, or granola. Fruit is rich in fiber, which is important for a healthy diet.
- There are many breakfast items that you can prepare in large quantities one or two evenings a week and freeze them, so you can reheat them quickly in the morning.
Step 3. Don't neglect personal hygiene
Brushing your teeth and flossing is essential. Wash your face, brush your hair, and do whatever you're used to doing to get ready for the morning.
- Some people wear makeup or apply products to their hair before going to school.
- If you wear contact lenses or a retainer, you need to spend time cleaning and using these devices.
Step 4. Get dressed
Put on the clothes you prepared the night before. Mirror yourself to make sure they fit you. You can make changes if necessary, but don't waste time trying to change an entire pairing, otherwise you'll be late.
Check the weather when you get up. If the weather is bad and you haven't prepared properly, you may need to get another sweater or raincoat
Step 5. Get everything you need
If you have prepared yourself correctly, the backpack should be ready, plus you should also have a snack or the money to buy it. Take everything you need and check once again that you have not forgotten anything.
- It may be helpful to store your backpack, coat, and shoes somewhere in the house so that you have everything close at hand in the morning.
- Ask your parents to help you figure out if you have everything.
Step 6. Get out of the house
Get in the car, hit the road or go get the bus. Whichever way you go to school, make sure you arrive on time. You can't control bus delays, but you can check your punctuality.
If you wake up 10-15 minutes earlier, you should have some extra time
Part 3 of 3: Preparing After School
Step 1. Unplug
After a long school day, it is important to spend some time alone to relax. Before spending time with your family or starting homework, do something that relaxes you.
- To relax you can go for a walk, play with your four-legged friend, listen to music or watch TV.
- Don't be afraid to tell your parents, "Sorry, but I need to be alone for a while to relax. I'm very tired. We'll talk about my day later."
- Taking the time to unplug allows you to relax and rest for the rest of the evening.
Step 2. Do your homework
It is essential to prepare for the next school day. Better to study in the afternoon so you don't find yourself doing your homework in the morning.
- To concentrate better, you can study with your friends.
- If necessary, ask your parents or a tutor for help.
- Some people prefer to do their homework immediately after school, before relaxing. Try to figure out if this is right for you and at what times you can concentrate better.
- Study for homework or scheduled questions.
Step 3. Make time for your family
While it seems to you that this has nothing to do with school, it actually allows you to switch off and process your school life. By sharing the day you will be able to understand how much you have learned.
- Spending quality time with your family is just as important to rest well and prepare for the next day.
- If you and your parents both have busy lives, you may not be able to spend much time together after school. Take advantage of whatever free time you have to deepen the bond and talk about your school life.
Advice
- In the afternoon, you can call a friend or classmate to make sure you haven't forgotten any assignments.
- Try to get enough sleep. You will see that everything will be much easier.
- Some parents help prepare a snack or choose clothes, others don't. It is good to get used to being as independent as possible. In any case, if necessary, ask for help.
- Choose your clothes the day before.
