Would you like to become a college football player? Here we will explain how!
Steps
Step 1. Know your level
Sometimes that's easier said than done, but you need to be realistic and understand where you can play. You have to set yourself high but still realistic goals.
Step 2. Create a video with your best plays
Make a 5-10 minute video based on the best video clips you have. Make sure the material is good, and that it shows your skills in multiple situations on the pitch. Enter your details in the video.
Step 3. Make a list of 100 colleges you are interested in
If your level is between D-1 and D-1aa, be sure to apply for both. Once the list is made, send a DVD to the relevant coaches, to the player selectors, and to the main coach. Also send the video link to the 100 or more universities you have chosen.
Step 4. Make sure that the video contains a report of your grades, a football resume and all the information to be contacted
Step 5. Get support from your high school coach, have him send an email to the universities of your choice, and ask him to call about twenty
If you want to be considered you must have the support of your coach.
Step 6. Participate as much as possible in programs that seek talent
Go to the National Underclassmen Combine, Under Armor, 7 on 7, and get invited to campsites like Ultimate 100 Camp, Top Prospect Camp, Elite 11, and Nike Camps. It is at these events that coaches look for future players.
Step 7. Meet the university coaches once a month (if a first and second year student) or at least every two months
You need to be able to communicate well, talk to the recruiter every time he sees you. Don't get your parents called, you have to, because it's your future.
Step 8. Attend university presentation days
You have to be selective, and choose the 5 colleges that interest you most. Don't try to live an impossible dream, just choose the universities that really interest you.
Step 9. Enter your profile in all recruiting networks
Submit your video, your information, and the support of your high school coach.
Step 10. Create a Twitter or Facebook page about football
Follow and add college coaches to the page. They won't be forced to contact you, but you can. Find out about their universities in the colleges pages, but above all presented in the best way. Don't get in the gossip of girls. What you need to have is the video, links and information about yourself.
Step 11. Create your own website
You've seen professional players do it, now it's your turn. Create your own domain and build it or have someone else do it. It will represent your resume. It will be your blog, your future.
